When I first saw that there were Phantom Phan clubs here on DA I assumed that the first thing I'd turn in would be something with the Phantom in it, not Christine, but I kept putting it off for commissions and convention work... but this just sort of came out of left field... I just stayed up the whole night making it because I couldn't sleep and I was feeling that really HEAVY sort of feeling again that I've been feeling alot lately.. so instead of just wasting a bunch of time crying and wallowing in tortured thoughts I drew this instead.

This part of the story doesn't seem to be touched on as much by phans... the Phantom "phan"dom in itself seems to derive mainly from the mystery and the seduction of the Phantom himself, or those who relate to the love triangle because they've seen or dealt with a similar situation in there lifetime... but for me there is an aspect of the story that I relate to that has made me a die hard fan of Gaston's book, and Lloyd Webbers song that sums up the feelings of Christine (more thoroughly explained in the book) about her difficulties of letting go of her past. I've had this problem myself for a very long time, and lately it's depressing me that I am only 2 years away from being a quarter of a century old and it still lingers. They say time heals all wounds but Webber's song "Wishing you were somehow here again" pretty much sums up why I haven't been able to shake my depression lately.

I cried like a sissy the first time I went to the new version of the movie too. Em did a beautiful job with the role.
