A few years ago, I promised ShadowNinjaMaster I had plans to illustrate more special weapons in Mega Man games. So after finally thinking about it, here's my take on the Magnet Mine, a weapon get from destroying Magna Centipede in Mega Man X2 or Mega Man Xtreme, a Gameboy Color game that takes place between X2 and X3. It's kind of bare-bones in comparison to other weapons like the Sonic Slicer, so this render may make it seem cooler than it should be. In the game itself, I think it could've been so much more effective, like maybe go around the place automatically and suck up the enemies it's able to take down. I think the Gravity Well from X3 did the concept better. BTW, I'm thinking San Francsico, Tokyo or some South Korean city could make sense for Magna's Centipede's stage (Central Computer) to take place.

If you want to picture what you're seeing this way, then X would be using his buster to control the particle he shot with the Magnet Mine. That could explain why his buster is lighting up, though he's honestly supposed to be shooting that big thing at the moment.

This render didn't take too long given the combination of higher samples than usual and the use of the denoise compositor. I used the Cycles render engine with more contrast than normal in the color managament, a mix of the BSDF and volume for the charged shot, and a sun light. For this render, I figured I'd go for something with a lot of hard light.

The model was from KylieStylish, but I had to get the model from ShadowNinjaMaster , because the model is gone from DeviantART. Maybe soon, I'll re-upload the model. I got the color scheme by re-coloring the body texture with both Photoshop and After Effects. Yes, that's the color scheme when he has the Magnet Mine selected. The charged shot was made from scratch, so it's not something you can download.
