One thing I've learned about myself: if I say I will (or might) finish something soon, I'll finish it in at least a month from then, haha.As always, mech. pencil (HB) and 2H. I had a bit of trouble with Luna...Over the past year or so, my shading's gotten lighter and lighter. I used to be pretty kickass at drawing dark shades, but I'm not so used to it anymore. So, she was a bit of a struggle for me.
Oh, and anypony that says the horns look like a certain something that is not a horn, is going straight to the glue factory. On the moon.

What's there not to like about this? I think you did the dark shading just fine. The details in the hair, diamond, and eyes just brings everything together! If I force myself to find something offβ¦I say it will be Luna's tear. Doesn't have the liquid feel like Celestia's tear.

Thank you very much! You are difinitely right about her tear - I feel like I tried to define it with outlines rather than shading like Celestia's was. I'll keep that in mind if I go back to fix it, thank you again!!

Man I sure miss doing traditional art, and while on vacation I decided to try Luna on sketch paper because of your traditional art. [link] I only spent 3 hours on it, I wish I can redo it and spend extra time shading itβ¦and scan it properly because I took it with my camera's phone. Can't wait to see more from you.

Oh gosh, I don't even know. Probably around the range of 8-12 hours? I started this around a month ago but have left it untouched until a few days ago, when I did work on it it was sporadic and in short sessions.

I drew aa picture of Luna and Celestia. But I'll NEVER draw that good. I spent 6 hours on a drawing and I still wasn't satisfied.

I do remember seeing your Goddess of Day and Night piece, which I think was really strong conceptually. You already are good, your pencil drawings have good atmosphere and value. Just keep plugging away at it, keep on drawing!

The only thing I didn't like about it was the background. I could've been a bit neater with that. Although, I'm not a 'color in' person.
