Description
PLEASE FULL VIEW!(Scroll to the right half.)
Maybe one day when I'm crazy enough, I'll make a tutorial on the left half of that picture.
HOLY FREAK THIS TOOK WAY TOO LONG. I thought I'd take a nice, relaxing break from my chaotic Anime Expo preparations and have a go at my first tutorial, but nooooooo...this thing is more stressful than an actual drawing.
But seeing that I'm a PS newbie, I'm pretty glad that I was able to at least compile all this together. I guess I picked up some bits of Photoshop knowledge over the year after all. Would be sad if I didn't.
People have been asking me to do a tutorial for a long time now, and I apologize for taking next to forever to get around to it
Compressing 15 painful hours of sweat, cursing, and flinging objects into a 670×7637 pixel tutorial is no easy task. I'm kind of sad that I had to cut like 30 pictures (about 8 steps) off from the walk through. The thing is flippin' ginormous as it is, so I couldn't make it even larger D: And excuse my random doodles. I went a little nuts on the commentary too -_-;;
This is a thank-you gift for all of my watchers and friends online, and hopefully it'll be of some use to those of you who are starting out with markers :>
FAQ's
You can get Copics at local art stores (if you're lucky), and definitely online. Aside from a Japanese bookstore I go to, Kinokuniya, I also order them from online at [link] . THEY ARE NOT CHEAP. They can cost from $4.50 to $6.50 each, so shop smart :>
Manga manuscript, A4 size; I prefer Copic and Manga University brand. You can find these online too.
Lots of trial and error and lots of practice.
EDIT:
Um...holy crap. Another DD?! I never even dreamed of getting the first one. Thank you =AdigunPolack for your suggestion and kind words, and ^znow-white for featuring it! I appreciate it very much!

This is unbelievably perfect! I've always loved coloring with copic markers when I was younger, but I ruined almost every sketch with it. -.-' Now it's the same thing with digital painting (and still with copics), but I'm trying to learn. I will try this tutorial as soon as I can (got to buy some new copics - the old ones died)!
And I'm adding this to my

Ahhhh your artwork is so pretty~~~ I'm not patient like you.. I loooove to draw traditionally (I just started to use a tablet ^A ^ And I really love markers (I have prismas, I hope to get copics someday.) I want to try and let each layer dry for the hair, like you've said, but I'm sooo impatient!
I guess my problem is that when I start a drawing, I get so excited about it that I just want to see it finished--but then it always looks shitty 'cause I didn't take my time. Sigh. You'd think I'd learn. XD NOPE.
Anyway, I looove this tutorial! I hope someday you DO post one on how you edit your work on photoshop, 'cause I can never get mine to look like the original.

From what I know, you HAVE to buy the whole Copic Sketch set from Curry's but Copic Ciao are sold individually~ And plus, if you're a beginner, it's BETTER to buy to only buy some colours (the ones you find necessary) rather than every single one of them ^^ For several reasons, such as testing whether you even LIKE using them xD *butIdon'thavecopicmarkersanywaysowhatdoIknow?*

I got my friend to buy me some while he was in Toronto.)

they can but you have to work fast or they get streaky. i use a combination of Copic and Prismacolor because i don't have enough Copic markers. my friend uses Prismacolors and her art is amazing. [link]
