Description All FAVES appreciated!!!!

Everyone asks me How do I make my nebulae. I use Apophysis to get the fractal which is the basis for my pictures. This tutorial will help you learn how to create the fractals in Apophysis. It is fairly easy if you know what to look for. Experimenting and patience helps.

I am only showing Page ONE in the preview, you will need to download the zip file to get the whole thing.
The entire tutorial is almost 8mbs, so I have zipped it up to save time. you will find a big jpeg with 11 pages worth of info.
Have fun!!!

Much thanks Ali, for that great and nonetheless easy-to-understand tutorial! It comes in very handy, cause I'm just at the beginning to trying combine of Apo, my TG-renders and also some PS-actions and-plugins; unfortunately I found it a bit to late - otherwise my first submitted try on this issue -> [link] would have been much more impressive I guess...
Anyway - when I get the first DD on this you'll get full credit^^

BTW - now I know you some years as an artist (even you don't remember me), but just before I've noticed, that we have the same DOB - except the year I guess, cause you looks much younger than me (I'm born 1955^^); so now I know where the artistic affinity comes from, which I have felt from the very beginning when saw your art.
However - thanks again, fellow-cancer-artist^^

Oh Ali - I really could need some help; for some strange reason, which I cannot define, I seems to be unable to find those tuts - neither on your page nor on the Moonchild-one - it's a shame I know, but can't do anything against

Didn't thin that you're older than me cause you looks much younger - but you are really lucky on this, cause it means that you are a horse in the Chinese sight of things - and I'm just a silly goat
But now I know where your tremendous productivity-rate comes from - always in the stretched Gallopp^^

Hello Mrs. Hubble

Today I found your tutorials for Nebula Fractal
I just start to learn PSE 7, so I wonder whether I will get a suitable result. If yess I'll let you see

I made a quick experiment thing :[link] it sucks utterly, but it gave me some time to familiarize myself with the program.

well at least you are getting the idea. Once you know Apophysis better and start getting the hang of what to look for then you will do a lot better... But it is a good first try.

Oh. Okay. You DID have a tut on actually making the nebula. I didn't realize this. But in any case I did make my own and it wasn't they way u describe in your tut. It was mostly selecting one fractal after another and using different variations. Took me a long time. But I will try yours too. Who know maybe I can achieve that silky stretchy type nebula that you achieved in your Reef nebula images. Thx again Casperium for sharing your work and ideas!

Just stay linear with 3 to 5 triangles to start out with.. Another version of nebulae (Painted Nebula, the Embrace type etc) uses the 3dhack version of Apophysis, and the use the Bubble script, once you have your bubble then hit the Mutation and you will find tons of nice nebulae real easily.

nebula, and clouds... they should be fairly simple to do with apophysis, didn't even occur to me before. Thanks for the help.

boot-cheese-3000 [2008-11-25 00:16:33 +0000 UTC]

awesome! thanx hon! i tried to do something with the program and photoshop but it wouldn't open there. do i have to create the nebula first on apophysis THEN transfer the image to the nebula files in my flash drive and twerk on it in photoshop or it can only be done in apophysis?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Casperium In reply to boot-cheese-3000 [2008-11-25 00:34:40 +0000 UTC]

Yes, you need to create the nebula in Apophysis and render it there and save it as a bmp or png then open it in photoshop and use the Fractal Nebula Tutorial to create the space scene. The tutorial is one gigantic jpg. in a zip file. Unzip and then you can open it in photoshop and enlarge it to 100% to read it. Same goes for the other tutorial. Make sure you use the Download button to the get zip and big file and not the thumbs.

Downloaded Apophysis to try making my own nebulas aaannd... well... I have a question. =/
In both the nebula tutorials of yours I've seen here, your fractals made in Apo look so... like... blurred and nice like a nebula should be. I mean, more like a "mist" or a "cloud" than like other shapes. I only seem to get those complex fractal shapes, full of lines and such, but can't find those colorful clouds you show... uhmmm understand? o_o hahaha I don't know if I did explain myself properly.
I'm a tottally noob at this, never used a fractal program like Apo so I wonder if I'm missing something important! Sorry to bother you!

Casperium In reply to carolinejamhour [2008-08-03 17:56:39 +0000 UTC]

You have to read the tutorial thoroughly, it has a section with screenshots on mutating the flames so you get the blurry clouds..

carolinejamhour In reply to Casperium [2008-08-03 18:03:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh I saw that! But that wasn't the problem ahaha... apparently I just wasn't finding the right flames. Thank you very much!
