I wanted to do something with dark hair and peacock feathers... so I did.
I ended up with about six versions of the file because I couldn't decide which one I liked the best, but I settled on this one in the end because I thought the tail feathers looked the best in it.I could probably do more work on this but I am starting to go around with circles - I'm tired and I've been looking at it too long.
The title also indicates that I am tired; all I can think is that she must be a princess to be able to afford those accessories! 
I will submit this to =DeviantDolls at some point, I expect...

Oh my gosh! when I was reading your description of this, I thought to myself... I bet EVERYONE can relate to this. I think we could keep picking and playing and changing until we drive ourselves (more) insane!
The mix of colors are gorgeous and I haven't seen the other versions but I'm going to guess you picked the right one!

I think the thing that made it harder is that the feathers were slightly blurry in the stock photo and I had a lot of trouble trying to make them look like they were blended properly with the girl.

The peacock feathers are really beautiful and I love how the blue in the feathers is reflected in the highlights on the hair and lips. There's something very delicate about this piece. The sooth pale skin looks gorgeous, especially against the black background. The black background really makes the vibrant colours stand out. Gorgeous
