Description
If you have read any of my descriptions more closely, you might have noticed I'm a great admirer of Jeff Buckley, a musician who passed away far before his time. There's no doubt you have heard his music before, with Hallelujah and Grace being 2 of his better known songs. On May 29th, 1997, Jeff Buckley died at age of 30 near the Mississippi River, where his body was found dead 6 days after he was reported missing. A drowning accident took away his young life.
Even 13 years after his death Jeff is still considered to be one of the greatest musicians of all time. To this very day he inspires known and unknown artists all over the world and influences musicians like Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and Matthew Bellamy (Muse).
Yes, he inspired me too, in many ways. So when I bought this little old-looking sketchbook, I wanted to dedicate the very first pages to the extraordinary and beautiful person he was.
The lyrics on the left page are from his song "Lover, You Should've Come Over" because that's my favourite song of his next to "Grace". In both of these songs Jeff foretold his own death without even knowing it, which is both eerie and eccentric at the same time.
You will always be an inspiration to many and forever be in our hearts. Even though I've never met you, I still miss you Jeff.
Rest in Peace.
Drawn on 2 A5 pages with 0.5mm B mechanical pencil.

"My Sweetheart the Drunk" was the working title that Jeff Buckley was using while writing and recording the album. Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk is a collection of polished studio tracks and four-track demos recorded by Jeff Buckley.

Is the writing done in your own personal writing style?
Or did you base it off a font or something of the like?

[link] I too am a huge fan of Jeff Buckley. He come to NZ and played in my home town for one concert - on my Birthday! And I couldn't make it - I thought, never mind, he's got a lot more music ahead of him, I will see him next time he comes down-under....
I'm just sharing because you tribute is grand.

Ahhh man, that's really sad. I'm sorry you missed your chance to actually see him live. No-one could have predicted Jeff's death, so there's no way you could blame yourself for missing a gig of his.
I hate it when people ask me things about his death being a so called suicide. When you listen to his music, you can really hear he celebrated the divinity of life. So pure.
I just left a comment on your drawing. It's incredibly beautiful! Fantastic work you got there.

Beautiful work, as usual! May I just say that it is SO refreshing to see all of the words spelled correctly...I proofread everything. I'm such a grammar nerd. LOL

LOL yay thank you! My spelling isn't always correct(ly? j/k) and I often confuse BrE with AmE. Gotta work on that.
