I guess this speaks for itself...
Some portraits I made in the years from 2001 'till... well... last month!
I hope this encourages people to create the things they like, whether it's drawn from reference images or just totally made up.
Sorry for the low quality. I can't post a high res version of this thing right now because my internet connection is terribly slow since last week. And my internet provider says they'll fix it within 2 weeks. Grrr!!!

I'd like to see more original artwork in your style. Not copied from other pictures, you're really good and I'd love to see you create more away from already existing pics

well I'm working on that. Last couple of months I made 3 self made portraits (so called 'OCs' ) and 3 more will come soon!
That's my goal for 2009 by the way. I'm slowly getting there

Yeah I like those by the way, plus your coping skills are amazing so your doing pretty good I think. How do you manage to make traditional art look so good? All my stuff comes out like crap.

Cataclysm, you are truly an amazing artist (but of course, many people say that). Ever since I saw your L picture, I was inspired to draw L for my pencil project in art class.
I'm currently working on it, but compared to your L picture, mine sucks in comparison. xD But, as you have shown, I'll eventually get better with time.

yup with practice and patience comes progression
perhaps you think your drawing of L doesn't look right, but that doesn't mean it looks bad! Keep drawing and will see how your pencilskills will grow!

Whoa, so you just like... randomly drew your first picture and it came out like that?? Just like... random? XD
I've always been doodling since I was like 3 and I got better... but I never just decided to pick up a pencil and say "Hey how about I try to draw." XDD

whoa, you certainly have improved a lot over the years. It's obvious as well that the more time you spend on something the more you notice and the better you get at recreating it. I really appreciate your art, and am glad to be watching you! You always have a nice variety and are so humble about your work. Keep it up!

You might say it's obvious (I think so too by the way), but some people think it isn't obvious at all. So by showing this I hope to encourage people to think about their own art and how they can improve

So true, I look at others' art and it's sometimes disheartening and I think, will I EVER get there? But seeing how others start at the same place I do is reassuring and looking back at my own work, I can see improvement as well! I guess it just takes patience, hard work and time most of all. With friends like you, though, it helps to get along! Thanks!

I love how you progressed!, you are very honest and are at one with your talent, you developed your talent and its amazing that another artist would share this, thank you, I want to do what you do, but my life is very busy, I can't draw for myself, I can't even do the art I want to do at University, it makes me depressed sometimes.
So when I see this it makes me happy that you get to do what you want to do.

Pencil is so much fun, and concentrating on the picture you are drawing makes time fly away so quickly, I wish I was in Highschool again so I could draw more freely.
Thank you for the 100th time for showing and teaching me through your works, because of you I have set a new standard in drawing and art in my class, hopefully I can get my artworks back from my lecturer and post it here, maybe next week I hope.

It's a real shame you can't draw for yourself at the moment. I heard some more people saying it about themselves and it makes me sad, because I just can't imagine how it must feel like not to be able to relax yourself by drawing things. It's something I like to do most (aside from playing music).

Yup eerst verzon ik altijd zelf dingen, maar sinds 2001 tekende ik voor het eerst afbeeldingen na. Dat was wel even wat anders!
Ik moet een nieuwe uitdaging hebben... dus binnen kort digitaal tekenen weer oppakken! (terror D: echt zo bang dat ik en niks van bak eh)

Ik vind mensen die photoshoppen of met pc art maken... niet echt leuk. het is te veel computer.

The very small details you achieve with the pencil are thrilling. Like the weaving on Cloud's shirt for instance.
