This tutorial can work with layers, just be sure the layer background is transparent and it should workHere a different version of my Paint Shop Pro glow effect tutorial, I use PSP 8, but any version will probably work.

I have Paint Shop Pro 7 and I tried, but on the 3D effect Buttonized is only available.

Sometimes if you have a free trial of PSP it won't have certain features. If it's the full version though, I'm not sure why it's not showing up.
You might have to download a plug-in for it to work. Try looking around corel's site or do a google search.

actually, I just figured out how to. Make another layer with the same image right below it in whatever color you want the glow to be (rainbow, for example) and gaussian blur it. then merge them. Ta da.

Is there any way to make the glow rainbow, using a gradient...?
