Description Incredibly sloppy rendition of Emer, a character and I have been playing with. In our world, she is Fae, and Oberon's knight champion.

She's based on the Irish warrior Cuchulainn's wife Emer. Another woman in myth/legend/history who was totally fucked over.

Essentially, Cuchulainn saw her and decided he wanted to marry her. She fell in love with him as well, but her lordling daddy declared that, as young Cuchulainn had not yet proven himself, he must go and do that first. He went to Scotland and trained his arse off, beat a mighty warrior woman, and her losing prize was to bear him a child. He left before the kid was born, went back to Ireland, and raided the home of Emer. He and his fellows ransacked the place and drove her father to throw himself off the battlements to his death. The happy couple went off and married. Cuchulainn had a string of adventures along with a string of mistresses--and when his only son pitched up, Cuchulainn didn't know who he was, so he killed him. (Brilliant man, I tell you!) It's said that Emer was 'never jealous' except for this one time... when Cuchulainn and the fairy Fand fell deeply in love. (Apparently even more so than C and E.) Emer pulled together a small army of her own and went to get her husband back. Though they'd both sworn to leave their respective spouses, Fand saw how much Emer loved Cuchulainn and so she erased both mortals' memories of the incident and they returned home. After ALL of this, there's even one account that claims Emer wanted to throw herself into the grave with Cuchulainn when he finally died.

Fuck that.

In my version, the Morrigan (played by ~chysgoda ) saw this as a waste of a clearly very talented woman. She brought Emer into the Fae lands, and over time she became Fae herself and eventually rose to a position as King Oberon's champion.

It's claimed Emer had the six gifts of womanhood: beauty, a gentle voice, sweet words, wisdom, skill at needlework and chastity (clearly prior to wedding).

She's still beautiful, still has a mellow voice and speaks elegantly, still very clever... and still likes to make her own clothes. She imprinted rather strongly on Louis XIV's fashions, and likes to mix her lace with her combat boots, as it were.

STILL not happy with her hair. Farking sausage curls!
