Description
Here she is without a finished base. This mini was converted from a freebooter model (pirate queen.) The hat, sash, pistol sheath and bolter were about all I changed.She will act as the HQ for my Warhammer 40K IG army. She will be deployed as part of the veteran squad embarked on one of three Valkyries in the list.
The army is themed as a penal legion, hence her orange garb.

Lord Commissars have a refractor field with a 5+ invuln, so I figured the armor would be redundant.

I didn't know about the hat thing. I thought it was more, 'The closer to head-height the bolt pistol, the angrier the commissar'.
Surely the lingerie gives better protection against small-arms fire.

I'd like a fully magnetized Leman Russ demolisher/executioner/punisher that could be fun.
Me: now, which weapon should I use today *strokes beard, twirls mustache* Should I use the Plasma Cannon on that pretty carnifex of yours, or the Punisher on those gaunts.

When will he ever need all those. 3 times my Executioner has killed a squad of 10 chaos terminators in 1 round of shooting and it only has the Plasma cannon, heavy bolter sponsons and a hull mounted las-cannon.
But I'll have to test different weapon mixes, if I magnetize it properly, I should be able to work out a good combination.

It could probably carve up a chumky squad of 30 ork boyz. Last time I saw him play, it killed a squad of fire dragons and a wave serpent XD

But Fire dragons only come in squads of 5. I don't care about the toughness of the foe, their volume is more important. (Or, to be more precise, the volume of dead ones.)

She won't need to load the Boltpistol since any red-blooded GuardsMAN and probably a good number of the women too would follow her without fail and not require her to shoot any of them. Nice conversion. I must check out Freebooter again. now.

You think price makes a difference to me when in comes to miniatures. I only have my GW stuff up here thus far. I have far more in the way of miniatures and such in my collection. Thanks for the warning though.
I would love to get my hands on one of the original Limited Ed. OoP Female Commissar miniatures that was actually made by GW. Still this beats her hands down.

They did. It was a Limited Edition (Games Day thing I think?). I see them every so often pop up on eBay but most want an arm and a leg for them and I need all of my appendages.

Haven't quite worked it out exactly yet.
What I'm thinking so far is she was the warden of a women's penal colony, until she was convicted of not carrying out a mass summary execution when one of her penal squads was seen to run from a greater daemon of Nurgle. She was sentenced serve her term in a men's facility (the colony from which my army is comprised, I haven't named it yet) as this was thought to be a death sentence. In fact the opposite was true, she was nastier than the men whom tried to accost her. When the warden found out that she had killed four male attackers unaided, he saw her battle potential immediately......yada yada yada, promotions, adept at command, yada, yada.....
Like I say it's not solid yet just a bunch of stuff whizzing through my head
