Pretty much just several thin layers of paint. I used GW, but I'm sorry, I don't remember the exact colors.

i love how you've painted the marble on that hammer!!! also the great little hints of magma on the base look really good!
may i ask, how you did the hammer?

It was only four colors. Bleached Bone, Snakebite Leather, Scorched Brown, and Skull White. I stippled The Snakebite onto Bone, then mixed the two colors applying a series of wet blends layered over the top. The veins are Brown and white, applied between wet blend layers to achieve the appearance of depth. Hope this helps, I'm no expert.
