A young crocangel just learning to fly. Fiesty little thing.Theraputic to have made myself a Museling when I was at my most frustrated. It's a prayer for inspiration.

Finally! Much-involved and looong sculpturage! Fully scaled and feathered (tho you can't see the detailed underwings). Really big too- life size!
Turned out awesome though- a few errors, but awesome. I've missed my crocbabies!20" long, 7" tall, 12" wingspan
Polymer clay and acrylic on metal armature, with minimal wood.

Heehee... If only I had sculpting skills...
I had an idea to make a statue by gluing thousands of pennies together with each penny acting as a 3D pixel of sorts. Push some out, push some in, make contours and indentations, all of the coins sitting flat.
Buuttt... I can't artify, so it'd come out clumsy and autistic.

The scalework is REALLY nice. o.o As is the coloring.

Glad ya like it! The coloring was cheap and easy- just a thin wash of black to get into the cracks between the scales so they'd show up better. I cheated.
