Description
calla lilies are beautiful flowers, and i happen to be lucky enough to have some growing (wild might i add) in my back yard. i think the previous occupants of the house i'm now in were a little keen on gardening, and these seem to have survived my harsh brown thumb. i decided i would cut 2 of the tonight and have a go at presenting them in a unique fashion. i have taken photos of calla's before, and i was pleased. i am also pleased with how these turned out.. so enjoy the feast that is to come!about this photo
i really wanted to bring out the curves in this (the older) lily. it is probably the largest one i've ever seen and it was perfect! it had curves and lines and details which just leapt out at me, and i couldn't resist showing off the curves of it's 'womanly form'.

You have some very lovely flower macros in your gallery, definately going to have you in my watch.
And definataly I'm soon goint to nearby Finnish biggest garden center to shoot flowers too <3
I think this photo could be improved further with some little tweaking with photoshop, like levels, color balance and a little bit of noise reduction.
If you wish, I can show you the results of such tweaking and teach you how I did it. It's really easy and is not photoshop specific.

thanks in hindsight, i'd probably change the lighting a little bit, and have some coming from the bottom rather than the top, but i'm pleased you like it

I love this one! The light and shadows are fantastic. You have shown off her curves very well.
I'm glad the plants have survived your 'brown thumb'. I sometimes have a problem with that too.
Lucky you to have such pretty things growing in your backyard.

haha.. luck is everything.. my brown thumb kills most things it touches.. so i just don't touch things that i want to survive and they seem to do quite well on their own (including the weeds!). i'm so pleased you like this one, it's almost my fave of the bunch from the lily shots.. thanks also for the

Sooo beautiful. It's so soft, and that black background makes the delicate curves stand out. Incredible series.

thankyou again erin, i was going to add more lighting here, but i liked the darkness and the curves together, i think it made it a little softer and romantic (so to speak), so i'm glad you think that. thankyou so much for all your kind words of support and encouragement and the
