Mmm... I had a bad experience with permanent marker and varnish...
Maybe it's better to try somewhere else first, in my case it spread like cheap make up after dancing in the rain
By he way, the T-shirt looks great!

yeaaaa I used jumbo sharpie for outlining most of it. then I used this horrible other marker that wasn't waterproof, so the varnish made it spread like cheap make-up just like you said XD the sharpie parts seem ok for now; no running or spreading anywhere (I'm waiting at least a week before I machine wash it)

thanks!! and thanks again for the great tutorial!!

What i varnish? The only varnish I know is for porches and things.

Transparnt paint to finish and protect a painting.

Ive picked up fabric paints, but wen i try painting it onto the cloth... it tends to spread... how do I avoid that? should I leave the paint open for a lil while to dry up a bit so that its not so liquidy and becomes thick?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ceci-Li In reply to quirkypink [2011-04-25 15:01:42 +0000 UTC]

I think it could be because of the kind of fabric. Maybe the fabric is waterproof, or not absorbent enough. Try with anotherone to check it.

inupuppy1412 [2010-11-11 21:29:15 +0000 UTC]

how long will they last in the washer or should we hand wash them

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ceci-Li In reply to inupuppy1412 [2010-11-12 16:18:16 +0000 UTC]

That really depends on the quality of the acrilics,
In the washer should be in 1/2 hour or least, better with warm water. But if you have time it's always better and lovely to wash it by hand

Thank you!! So are you sure acrylics won't wash out?? I'm fairly sure it can come out..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ceci-Li In reply to yingmakes [2010-09-10 00:59:11 +0000 UTC]

Very sure! My husband has a few very very old t-shirts painted that way and believe me, the fabric color might be lighter but the paintigs are the same as the first day

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

yingmakes In reply to Ceci-Li [2010-09-10 06:21:32 +0000 UTC]

Wow, ok, awesome!

So... any acrylic is ok?γ€€Just not waterbased??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ceci-Li In reply to yingmakes [2010-09-10 10:28:20 +0000 UTC]

I must say that i had to check it, so after reading the entire little bottle... We use waterbased acrilics so i guess any acrilic will do it fine.
Thanks for asking, i'll see if i can include that in the tuto

yingmakes In reply to Ceci-Li [2010-09-11 07:51:16 +0000 UTC]
