[ STOIC ]

The Stoic bears suffering without complaint. He appears emotionally detached and resigned, as if he feels a quiet resolve about something that cannot be altered. He masks the countenance of the classic "poker-face," making him difficult to read by friends, family, and fellow hunters. In fact, his face can look like a mask and is often long-drawn as if weighted by the gravity of his burdens. When his eyes are not frustratingly impassive, they can appear, in a poetic sense, like dark chasms that act as reservoirs for the failures, disappointments, and losses.
Kaiden pays little to no mind about the opinions of others, appearing content and calm most of the time. Rarely anything throws him off, but when that happens, he tries his best to get back on track. In addition to this trait, he is also brave and tolerable.

History
Kaiden was abandoned by his parents and left in the care of his big brother Alkaios. Alkaios didn't know Kaiden was his little brother, but Kaiden knew all too well. He was too shy and closed off to admit it, so he remained under the title 'adoptive brother'. He had a lot of friends in Lightning Empire, but the one he was with the most was Fausta. They were inseparable; together even when they slept.
One day, Kaiden heard that his brother went missing. Rumors had it that he abandoned the Empire and left to search off for his sister. Worried and frightened, Kaiden wanted to go after his big brother. He left Fausta and the others with a heavy heart, promising he'd return with his brother soon. Kaiden found himself wandering on crossroads, always loosing his way and not being able to catch any food. He was a cub after all. He didn't know how to survive on his own. He was exhausted, hungry and dehydrated. Nevertheless, his feet kept moving. They kept moving until the kit just collapsed near the seashore.
He was found by a patrol of hunters not too long after. Good thing too-- the cougar nearly died. He was escorted into the city of Massilia and taken care of. He got adopted by a human who desired him for nothing more than a pet. Kaiden was soon enrolled into the tribunes, meeting the rest of the hunters. The one he hung out the most was Juno. Kaiden kept talking and talking about himself to her until he mentioned Alkaios was his brother. Juno was taken aback, and soon enough had to admit that she was his and Alkaios' long lost sister. She also confessed that she killed Alkaios. Kaiden was grieving, feeling a bit lonely knowing he'd never meet his brother again. He didn't dwell in depression, but quickly snapped out of it. Since Juno was his only remaining family, he swore he was gonna make her proud. He was gonna become a hunter-- an elite at that. Kaiden soon forgot about his friends in Lightning Empire, but there was one particular cub he'd never forget, no matter what.
Living as a tribune among the hunters, Kaiden quickly adapted to their ways. His flexible nature allowed him to take in all the fighting, insults, aggression... But regardless, he has not forgotten everything good he has known beforehand, and he struggles to keep that kindness in tact. During his apprentice days, he met a golden cat by the name of Indra in captivity. She was injured and, due to his kind heart, he helped her out by finding an anesthetic for her open wound. Indra, seeing he wasn't like the others, allowed a normal dialogue which turned into a friendly and a helpful conversation. Kaiden and Indra gave each other hope. Later on, Kaiden helped Indra and her little brother escape by secretly opening the gates. Indra has imprinted in his memory and he was the one and only cat that didn't judge him just because of his allegiance, but actually chose to listen. He promised her that he'd break free one day.
He quickly finished trough the H.U.R.T. system and graduated as a hunter. He still longed for meeting Fausta again, shortly before the war between the Empires and the Hunters. The humans have given him a new set of claws; Steel ones in order for better performance on the field. With a week only left before the war, Kaiden decided to visit the Lightning Empire, risking his own good to try and find Fausta before the Empires really get riled up. It took them some time to recognize each other and accept their differences, but once they did, Kaiden was a new cougar. His cubhood memories came back and washed over him like a cool rain after a long run. He had visited her a few times before the war started, and promised each other that they'd be careful and get trough this alive. During the war, Kaiden met Indra again, and as not to blow his cover, he fought her while trying to talk to her and explain his current situation. Indra spat at his indecisiveness and got him a few scars for it. Kaiden's bipolarity started to really kick in then. He was in a dilemma whether he was really destined to be a hunter, or a cougar living free out in the empires. His idea was to pretend to be a hunter, but there's another side of him that makes it feel like it was real. Barely controlling that side, he let Indra escape before he really lost it as her words and his confusion got him to cry. As the golden cat went out into the battle, he sat there as rain poured over his new wound, but it also helped him calm down. He waited, exhausted and with a cold wound, for the battle to end. When it did, Juno had seen what he did. She was furious, but still too soft for him to harm him anymore than he already was. She warned him with a blood-freezing yell and a slap. As he was recovering from his wounds, he was alone. Completely alone. He couldn't visit Fausta like that, he couldn't talk to anyone because he was afraid of his killer side appearing again. He needed to settle it down before talking to anyone. He tried to make sense of what Indra was telling him all along in hopes of calming himself.
