ABOUT

Personality
[ LOYAL ]

Jiyu stays utterly loyal for as long as she lives to whoever she deems worthy of her loyalty and trust. It's rare of her to open up to either a saber or a wolf. There must be something in them where she can recognize herself in. She will never remain loyal to someone if she was forced to. Even if her own life was in danger. She believes that her place is with the bandits and that's where she'll remain for as long as she sees fit..

[ UNDERSTANDING ]

With her 6 years of experience, Jiyu has seen and been trough a lot. There's rarely a problem that she cannot interpret or solve. Though, she usually keeps closed off and rarely ever listens to anyone's problems, let alone tries to help them with their troubles. But, as a leader, it's her duty to attend all the bandits if they need anything..

[ STRICT/MATURE ]

Being a deputy, that is, the second in command, it's her duty to keep the bandits from falling apart while her leader is away. She will not hesitate to voice-throw at someone or even do physical damage to anyone; bigger or smaller than her if they were to disobey either her or Takoda's rules. Jiyu is generally mature and serious. Jiyu is shown to be easily annoyed by others goofing off or drawing unneeded attention to themselves. She hates anything that she deems childish as well as being described as something close to a cub.

[ INDEPENDENT ]

As her name suggests, Jiyu is mostly by her own. She doesn't need to confide in anyone or to seek advice from. She keeps herself inside her yard of experience and refuses to seek help from anyone, even when she needs it.

[ WISE ]

After all those years of dealing with problems and learning from mistakes, Jiyu has developed great wisdom. She knows what is right in which moment and will be right about it 99% of the time. She may be the wisest of all the bandits. When they go marching in battle and most likely somewhere where something bad will happen, Jiyu stays back. She won't tell anyone but Takoda why, though. She also knows the values of life and death; knowing why it's more important to spare a life than to kill, but when she has to kill, she will execute that action.

[ SELF-CONSCIOUS/HONEST ]

Jiyu is brutally honest with herself. She is never easy on herself and will degrade herself for making a mistake, due to that event being super rare. She doesn't have much self-confidence, but is fully aware of her actions. She will rarely be honest with anyone else but Takoda and herself though. She deals with the facts very quickly and adapts to any given situations at a record speed.

Extra Facts
- Jiyu is smaller than an average female saber. She is the size of a tiger.

- Jiyu still has breakdowns from what happened to Chetan. She considered him as if he was her real, blood related brother.

- She isn't the one to engage in a battle, but will only fight if she must.

- Jiyu keeps showing her true self to a minimum. She is only unmasked with Takoda, maybe even Pike.

History

Jiyu was a scatterbrain cub. She wasn't always collected and calm. She didn't have good parents or a good family like the others in her small, violence-based clan.  Oh, and Jiyu was never her real name. She renamed herself later on because that's the name she was given by her parents who detested her and another reason explained further on. Her real name was/is Shikoba, meaning feather. They didn't name her that way out of love. Feathers were small, fragile and soft. They posed no danger, nor could they harm anything. Once discarded, they'd get blown away by a light breeze, and eventually disperse trough time. This was actually somewhat of an insult to mock her because of her size and personality. Yeah, you got it! She was, believe it or not, actually playful and loving. She couldn't harm or hate anything or anyone. That is, until others started to bring her down.

Even though it was said her size was the only feature they'd mock her with, there were many others as well; like her name, her personality, her caring nature, her inability to fight or harm others--. She tried to remain strong trough all those insults, but alas failed. For quite awhile, she resisted and tried to block out those hurtful words, sometimes even hits. Shikoba, or now, Jiyu, gave it her all to stay happy, to care for others and help them, but that was never appreciated in her surroundings.

She had enough.

She was sick and tired of everyone draining her positive energy with both hurtful words and hits. She was sick of being submissive to everyone around her, even the ones who hurt her-- to be the unblessed child by her own parents! If words weren't gonna solve this, violence was.

At a very young age, Jiyu became a violent and a very inexperienced fighter. She'd win all her battles either with luck or by being persistent, no matter what damage she got. She picked on sabers that were bigger than her, but to win fights against them, she'd get a lot of bloodshed on her side. She took care of herself. She disowned her parents and cast everyone away. This is when she gave herself the name Jiyu, which meant freedom. She wanted to be free. Not to live under someone's pity. All she knew now was how to fight and insult everyone around her to protect herself and gain respect. Three years or so went by and she'd beat up anyone if they'd even dare insult her because of her size or call her by her past name. She never killed anyone though, only beat them down so hard that they couldn't stand up for awhile. She was just an empty shell which was once filled with love and kindness.

Her troublesome fights reached some of the wisest sabers in the land. She eventually met him, but she wasn't very polite. That's why she has that scar on her face. She got overpowered quickly by this stranger. That was the mark of how disrespectful, impolite and loud she was. He warned her, advised her and offered her his help-- something Jiyu didn't get ever since she could remember. She was alone for awhile, thinking about what he said. She knew this wasn't the real her. She didn't want to be a killer or someone who was... Rude. She saw in that saber something like a spark which would lead her back to the way she was. She even thought he'd protect her if they'd ever attack again.

Gathering her sanity, she departed to meet him once again. If you read the story in her app, you know what happened, and if not, here; That saber took her in as his own young, and introduced her to his son, Chetan. Over a long period of time, Jiyu became her old self again. To Shikoba. Though she didn't pay much attention to her past, let alone her name. She was taught how to be gentle again, and how to resolve conflict without fighting or audacity. She was protected by Chetan's father, yes, but in time she learned how to protect herself without fighting. On their first hunt, Chetan successfully hunted down an elk, and had it for his meal. Jiyu caught a blue robin, but didn't kill it. She'd never kill anything so precious and fragile. Even if she made her new-found family think she killed it for a snack, she didn't. It would be a waste to kill such a beautiful creature for nothing but a snack. She let it go, and as the bird took off, it left behind a pair of it's feathers. As they met the ground, they reminded her of her cubhood. No, not that part of her cubhood. The nice one where she was her true-self- where she was Shikoba- a feather. She didn't see it as an insult to have had that name. Feathers were beautiful, and they reminded her of freedom. Jiyu never told Chetan or his father her true name. She took the feathers with her and tucked them behind her ear, as sentimental items.

Jiyu was growing alongside Chetan. The two of them played like cubs, even if they were young adults now. She felt truly free like this, away from all the violence and the mask she wore to keep herself from breaking inside. Good things never last long enough. A pack of dire wolves attacked that past clan of hers and her family. Chetan's father went to fend off the wolves and give Jiyu and Chetan a chance to run. With a heavy heart, Jiyu and Chetan ran away as his last roars reached their ears.

They wandered off for months on their own. Chetan was less endurable than Jiyu, always falling behind. He was depressed about his father's death, even Jiyu was, but nothing could compare to blood-related family relationships. He knew his father his whole life, unlike Jiyu who knew him for just a bit of time. That depression got him in a disposition and he eventually caught some virus which was slowly shutting him down.

Jiyu did all she could. She used all her knowledge to help him, but it wasn't enough. It slowly drained her. She knew he was gonna die soon and she couldn't do anything about it. She never faced this kind of problem before and it just tore her to know she couldn't be helpful. Miraculously, a saber with the power to help him found them. He could help Chetan, in exchange for Jiyu being the deputy of his group. Jiyu was never selfish. She gave up her... Freedom for Chetan's well-being. He helped him, and took Jiyu with him. She took off with a heavy heart, leaving all the good she had left behind.

Even though she thought it was gonna be a hellbound place, her current home wasn't all that bad. Sure, they were titled as bad guys and whatnot, and she got pestered by her size again, but she couldn't really mind. She mostly hung out with the stranger who's name was Takoda. The two became friends, best friends and trusted colleagues over time. Jiyu began to like it there with them.

Jiyu wanted to see Chetan again, so she went around sneaking in the Seaven territory, since that's where she sensed his scent at most. She knew they were, by ranks and allegiance, enemies, but she thought he wouldn't care. Once she found him again, she couldn't have been happier. Though, she was hurt when she found out that he had no memory of her and that he chased her off the Seaven territory. She was a broken down saber after that. Even after all they went trough together-- what she did for him--. She couldn't do anything about it, only weep and cry. Takoda would comfort her when he could get the chance, and Jiyu would eventually get back on her feet.

She even started to feel a new kind of love towards Takoda, but that was shattered when she found out that he killed Chetan. It was like her whole life stopped. She was confused, angry and scared. Out of those emotions, she got into a fight with Takoda and eventually, their positive relationship broke. She trusted him, and she never thought Takoda, of all sabers, would kill him. She ignored his explanations, which were true, and once again got blinded by anger. She was cold and closed off to everyone around her. She needed time for herself, and she didn't want anyone else precious in her life for her to lose. For a long time, she stayed away, secluded.

She was all formal with the others, refusing to let emotions and feelings surface out ever again.
Jiyu lived as an empty shell once again, just taking orders and locked in prison made by her own thoughts and memories. There were times when she'd blame herself for some things she never did, and she eventually forgave Takoda, for it wasn't his fault the stubborn kit died. She'd never tell. She was afraid to say that she was sorry as well. There was also Ahanu who died because he was running after Takoda all the time. She felt sorry for him, and ironically respected him. She didn't know it, but she cared for him. She cared about Chosovi who was captured and many others there. That she'd never show either.

Once Takoda turned against his most powerful weapon, Croix, and his son, Reaper, Jiyu was more than surprised. I mean in a positive way, per se. Ever since she joined the bandits, she thought they were suppose to be against the tribes, and Croix would be of good use in that goal. Takoda was about to give in to their deceitful words, but she wasn't gonna let that happen. Even if she didn't insist on bonds and whatnot, she wanted the Bandits to stay together, and she'd make sure of that. She snapped out on Takoda, getting him back to his senses and got him to fight for the bandits. For the group-- the sanctuary he built for everyone who was cast out; like her. Even if she tried to encourage him, she didn't say she was sorry and that she trusted him again. The battle was fierce, especially when Croix used Chetan and his father's spirit against her. Of course it hurt her, and got her numb for a few moments, but she knew all too well that it wasn't real. It hurt her to land blows on their spirits, but she had to fight for the present, not stay in the past. Jiyu couldn't be more proud of Takoda, her feelings and trust towards him returning. She fought side by side with him, this time for a greater good, and all of them eventually chased Croix away, while Reaper stayed on their side.

After that battle, she was titled as leader. It wasn't so bad. After all, little changed since before the battle. Once she sucked it up, she finally told Takoda how sorry she was, and admitted her feelings towards him. Their feelings were mutual, which got Jiyu to smile again, after so long.
