Edit:I NEVER SAID IN HERE THAT ANIME IS NOT ART, PLEASE STOP SPAMMING MY FRONT PAGE AND SENDING ME NOTES, ALL YOU'RE DOING IS MAKING YOURSELF LOOK LIKE A DUMB ASS BECAUSE I LAUGH AND CLICK THE X BUTTON EVERY TIME I SEE ONE, YOU ARE NOT EFFECTING ME WHAT SO EVER SO GIVE IT UP.Read the description before you comment and make yourself look stupid.
Comments now enabled because I'm sick of my page being spammed with comments I could care less to read, realize that you posting a comment here does not mean I will read it or respond, I will likely not do either of the two.
Ok before you read this or flame me remember that this is MY OWN opinion and I am not in anyway trying to change yours.
I have NOTHING against anime at all, it is not my favorite but I do not hate it, in fact I do enjoy a few animes such as Wolf's Rain, Evangelion, Hellsing, Excel Saga, and a few more. HOWEVER I am SICK and TIRED of people saying "anime is the best!" "I love anime!" "look I can draw anime!" "anime is so original!" when no one is really saying bluntly that anime sucks and that it is not art. and then I go to the front page of DA and see nothing but huge eyed anime girls with balloon like breasts, nipples the size of salami slices, and slutty clothing with the letters "kya" sketched next to it. All these pieces look as if they were drawn by the same person. I am NOT at all saying anime is not a cool style, it is an awesome style if used properly.
You can look through my favorites and see many anime pictures by artists here on DA I enjoy. What bugs me is when people claim their anime has style opposed to any other anime. Anime is a vast area of art, they're cartoons. People who obsess over anime characters as if they were real need to get out more.
I think if more artist stopped looking at pictures of anime girls or whatever that other people drew and just basically tracing it, and began to develop their own style this place and the art community as a whole would be a lot better.
Also this does not by any means mean I enjoy dogs with huge ears, anime eyes, 'kawaii' features, hair, and the cartoon animal style a lot of people share. This stamp focuses on anime but it goes for all art that needs more stylizing.

Anime "style" looks boring and genetic... No one does anything new with it and everything look the same no matter who drew it.

Hmm...if you're talking about people holding up paper to the computer screen to trace bases, recoloring skimpy outfits, and pretending they're Japanese, then yes i agree. But if you're saying that all anime is pretty much the same, i have to say that you're worng. It's been said before on here but...yeah you could've worded the stamp a little better
Either way, it's your opinion, at least you have the guts to express it to the masses instead of hiding behind someone else's ideals

agree, anime.... is just cartoons. They are put together in a short amount of time, and honesly no "love" is put into them. Putting "love" into a piece and you will get style.

I draw some anime and some non anime.
Anime is art, yeah, but it doenst hurt to try drawing some other style. So, i do agree.

My, my, a simple stamp has caused many arguments. I read some of the comments and this is ridiculous. Some of these people are adults and arguing online over this? This miss is simply stating her opinion. That's all. I don't see why some people got all worked up over this. I do agree with her opinion slightly. "People who obsess over anime characters as if they were real need to get out more." <- That, I should do, thanks. That's about it. . . (Anime will always be somewhat part of my drawing style. Maybe you'll see, one day. Not now, I need a scanner. xD)

yeah ive been in love with japan all my life, even before i knew about anime and stuff. i draw it now, since 2nd grade, and it is SOOOOO annoying with the sluttly anime big-boobed girls. i loove how you included that in there!;]

I HATE ANIME! i only like 2 anime shows and i despise the style! like once naomi drew anime and every LOVED it thought though it was "good" but ihre i go, drawing my OWN style and everybody picks out every litte detail that made Vaughn look weird! and that is part of my story or why i hate it!

I don't get why people can't respect your opinion. I love fosters (american cartoon) but if someone thinks it sucks then they think it sucks. The world would be boring if we all had the same opinions.

Sure, anime's art, but that doesn't make it "original" art or very creative at all. Frankly, you only have to change the color of their eyes and change their hair and, ta-da, you have a brand new character.
It's nice when used in small dosages, like snow, but when it's everywhere, all the time, everyday, it's annoying and boring.

Not that I don't like anime, because I do, I have to agree with this to a point. Anime can be art, but it gets a little sickening when people just draw generic anime characters and say how super kawaii desu they are

im not a 'KYAH' girl but I enjoy drawing it. Its a fun style. I like other things too though. but I still enjoy it. I do have my own style, but my style is anime.

i agree with you about the fact that too many people's styles are the same, but every decent artist develops their own style after a while. i also hate the huge boobs on anime girls some artist like to draw. but otherwise i love anime and i enjoy drawing it. thanks for sharing your opinion, but i disagree

You have your own opinion and I have mine. Anime kicks ass and that's that. DON'T U DARE say that anime is all about slutty clothing and big boobs. You obviously don't know the first thing about it. It's a traditional style of art and next time you want to say that we aren't "using anime properly". Don't be such a coward hiding behind your little anti-anime fan club and SAY IT TO MY FACE! Never said I wasn't hypocritical. Everyone is. We all say these wonderful things about being kind, and helping others, and never crossing that line between good and bad, but in reality, whether we notice it or not, we always do something that we say should never be done.
And you know what? That magical line between good and evil? It doesn't exist.
Sorry, sidetracked. In any case my comment was immature and typed on a bad day. And while I don't believe that I was "shoving anime down someone's throat," the hypocrisy is not lost on me. I was out of line. I've learned a lot since then and I hope you won't hold it against me.

u know what? i know this is your opinion, but u dont have to say it so bluntly. what if u just drew a dot and it had purple spots? that is still art, so u cant say that anime isnt. its a style, so if u dont like it, u dont have to, but dont just say stuff like this to everybody. i dont care about the big eyes or the bad clothes. i like the style, and i draw it my own way. so there!

I support this all the way! Well to tell you the truth, I don't like the really cute anime with the big eyes. I like realistic anime like Miyazaki films and Ergo Proxy and Death Note.
