Back when it all started with journal coding, there was a certain template that used !important for every line they had.
It was a template that pretty much covered everything that was possible to code back then and people just had to fill in values, image paths etc. A LOT of people used that and i have the feeling the ghost of this remains until now in the head of people.

People usually stick to how they learn something first... i tried to educate people, but i have given up after a while. Luckily with the new gruze-structure !important is not that prominent or randomly used like before.

Because people adjusted to that new structure with the new tutorials that don't use !important everywhere anymore.

You're welcome. I often come across code that sports !important like it was the duct-tape holding the whole shebang together. Yesterday I was met with a particularly confusing example, which led me to write what you see up there. In perfect honesty, this isn't me sharing, this is me ranting.
