Description
Established in 1969 along with the other 12 United States Commonwealths, the Four States Commonwealth was an expansive administrative unit that covered much of the Colorado River Basin as well as a portion of the upper Rio Grande River Basin. Its capital was located in Denver, with Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and Tuscon being the three other major urban centres in the commonwealth. Comprised, as the name implies, of the states of the Four Corners area the Four States Commonwealth was a relatively functional Commonwealth, with the exception of Utah common ground was easy to find.

Impasses would often arise over legislation regarding addictive substances, for example Utah's 2032 ban of Mentats was overturned by the Commonwealth Assembly after intense lobbying by manufactures such as Med-Tek. As the 21st century progressed Utah became more and more isolated from the other states, especially their Mormon community - Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico pursued policies that benefited them with little consideration for Utah.

After the war the Four States Commonwealth experienced nearly two hundred years of tribalism before Caesar's Legion rose to prominence in the area.
