Description
Inspired by the time Scott and "Jean" spent on the mountains of New Mexico before their assault to the Hellfire Club.
Also inspired by Savage Garden's "Truly madly deeply".
More Marvel Comics fan art:
I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy,
I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need;
I'll love you more with every breath truly madly deeply do...
I will be strong, I will be faithful 'cause I'm counting on
a new beginning, a reason for living, a deeper meaning.
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea,
I want to lay like this forever
until the sky falls down on me...
And when the stars are shining brightly in the velvet sky,
I'll make a wish, send it to heaven, then make you want to cry
the tears of joy for all the pleasure in the certainty
that we're surrounded by the comfort and protection of
the highest powers, in lonely hours the tears devour you.
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea,
I want to lay like this forever
until the sky falls down on me...
Oh can you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
'cause it's standing right here before you,
all that you need will surely come...
I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy,
I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need.
I love you more with every breath truly madly deeply do...
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea,
I want to lay like this forever
until the sky falls down on me...

Not necessarily. When any of his girlfriends/wives dies, Scott feels dramatically bad for a while, then gets a new hot girlfriend not toolong after that. (Which is fine, as one should move on, but then he gets to cheat on them or leave them, and that does not paint him as the unconditional man he might seem at first glance.)

You're welcome! The Claremont/Byrne run is my favourite and your rendition is a lovely tribute to that era!

It was really good. Both of them brought something cool.
I really tried to do some measure of justice to that arc.

I'm currently working on a Madelyne and Alex pic that may have some of the feeling of this pic, but twisted. Still, you might also like it once it is done.

Thank you. I think it was a good scene from that arc.

Beautiful art. I love how you focused on the background details as much as everything else.
I have the issue that comes a little after this in which the X-Men are captured by the Hellfire Club and Wolverine saves the day. I love the storyline.

Thanks.
I tried to fit as much from the song as I could, and a lot of it went to the BG.
Knowing Phoenix will die shortly after this and this is the last "calm" moment Scott and Phoenix will have, make that comic so cool.
Of course, even then, Slim already had a lot of questions about "Jean's" new attitude.

Thanks, but credit goes to Mister Claremont and Mister Byrne, for imagining it first.

Damn and here I thought I was the only person on the planet that thought that some sort of elaboration on that scene would make great fan-art...
Excellent art here, m'man.

Maybe... I can say this is the first fanart rendition of the scene I've come across, though.

This is truly beautiful! One is capable of seeing the sentiment of feeling completely for someone. One is also inclined to feel the passion {in the form of the Pheonix} in the two lovers' eyes even without knowing the story of the two! This is very well done!

I did leave out Scott's doubts, but that was intentional. This pic is about Jean reassuring Scott that everything will be okay as long as they love each other so.
