Gecko is sometimes too trusting for his own good and this gets him in loads of trouble. He thinks everyone and anyone can change their ways and more than most of the times he's dead wrong. He's friendly and would always try his best to keep his friends happy and to be around them and make them smile, he's at his happiest when he's around others. He likes to talk and spontaneously do random things for fun. He likes to make his friends happy and at ease. He talks a lot, and by that i mean he talks about anything that comes to his mind.
It's not hard to impress this little kid, he loves comic books and superheroes so just with that info you can easily impress him. He's optimistic, he believes everything will be okay and that one day mutant kids would be freed all around the world and have a place in society. It's easy to scare him and ghost stories usually leave him unable to sleep for days, so rather not mention the camp ghosts to him.

He can stick to walls like spiderman a gecko. (he likes climbing a lot)
He's got an extraordinary ability to heal and regenerate injuries
Regrow limbs that might be taken off like his tail and toes/fingers.
Weaknesses:
He's easily manipulated, so you can easily convince him to do something he wouldn't usually do.
When he's healing it takes a lot of energy so he gets really tired and is easy to attack.
He has to have at least 2 limbs(hands/feet) against a surface to stick to it.
Blood can rush to his head if he hangs upside down for too long.
History:
How Gecko got to be an Itex experiment is a mystery. But he was there since birth and had been experimented on since he could remember. That's why it doesn't bother him as much as it should to have a whitecoat treat his injuries. He grew up in the cage and in the lab he was made in, which is somewhere near Salt Lake City, he had since then forgotten where exactly the lab was.
His mother might have been a teenager who got pregnant and then gave him up but he'd never know that.
He spent most of his days in the lab, watching experiments come and go and die in the cages around him and he tried his best to cheer the dying up, as well as to bug the others there. He had tried a few escapes with other mutants in the lab, but it always ended badly, with the kids getting beaten and put through even worse and inhuman experiments and tests, though Gecko always saw the bright side and saw it as just another step towards someday getting free.
He was eventually saved by Dr Parker and brought to the camp.
Additional Info:
Gecko loves superheroes and he knows a lot of random facts about them, his comic books and few action figures are his prized possessions.
He knows American Sign language, it's not clear why he's been taught this but he knows it fluently. He also knows how to read lips from the times he had to be quiet in the cage room, which wasn't easy for him mind you, it's hard to keep him quiet for long enough.
You can convince him to do anything for you if you bribe him with something sweet or superhero related.
He's cold blooded but not to the extent that it impairs him in any way, his body can generate enough heat to keep him in the save zone, though should he be exposed to the cold for an extended period of time, he'd be far more susceptible to it than a normal kid.
