Description Done during an OpenCanvas session with

We always joke about how our characters have different numbers of toes, and how they'd probably be quick to notice that subtle difference So, this idea came up. Kyle and Charlie, my bear character that I don't get to work with much, are lounging and both have their feet up on the coffee table. Charlie notices the difference between them, but Kyle's so used to it by now that he doesn't have trouble talking it off as natural

Now we just need Timmy to hop into the scene and make it all complete.

Aside from working on drawing feet and trying to get better at that, this image also really pushed my ability to do perspective and foreshortening. It actually took me quite a bit to get it to a point that I was satisfied with. I'd really appreciate the input on how you all think I did with it

To be honest I am more partial to the four toed paw style because just like the style I draw hands in (one thumb three fingers) I think it makes sense at least for the characters that I have drawn to have the same number of digits on the hands and feet both. nod:

I love your squishy paws style (something we have in common) Kyle looking cute as ever in here and I like how natural he looks talking about paws. Great pic!

Aww, thanks a lot! I worked really hard on this picture, honestly. I'm actually rather proud of the paws and perspective as a whole. Heh, and Kyle came out well too It's probably one of my personal favorites of my own work.

Eh, I don't feel at liberty to show my preference of how many digits a foot has. Still, it's good to show how there can be a bit of peace between those with three and those with four.

All that, and you do a good job on detail. By that, I mean shading, like the bottoms of their feet are lighter than the tops. It's simplistic how you did it, but somehow it's natural. I also like Kyle's pose. Isn't it hard to make a character cross his legs at that "camera" angle?

Trust me, it's hard I had to look at my own legs and how they crossed to get it done. The 'camera' angle in this one was the main challenge, and also why I'm especially happy with it

Thanks for all the compliments, Chu!

Hands-on experience is sometimes the perfect way to draw.

You're very welcome.

I think the perspective is really working well on this. Cute poses too ^^ I like a variety of toe counts. Though I mostly prefer the standard 4.

Heh, thanks a lot Glad that you think it's cute! That's at least a sign that I'm doing something right

I usually notice that you stick to four toes in your art, though three does pop up from time to time. It's probably easier to make a balanced-looking foot with four, since that's close to how a human foot is designed.

Same here, since most all my characters have that style. Still, Kyle and Timmy's four toed approach is very cute as well Decisions, decisions...
