Backstory: after coming back from traveling the world in 2013, Sir Robert decided to start looking for a private engine, and he thought he found one with Flint, cause he did fine for a few weeks until he and Gordon started to get a rivalry that wasn't friendly like Gordon and Spencer's, Flint kept trying to prove to the earl and Sir Topham Hatt that he was a better engine for the express then Gordon, but they didn't listen, but Flint was too stubborn, he kept racing Gordon and making the earl miss appointments, the Earl wasn't happy with that, so he took him off of private engine duties and made him the goods engine for the Maron Branch line.

Bio: Flint is a very prideful engine, he does follow the Great Western way but his pride sometimes get's in the way of that, and while he tried to prove to Sodor he's a better Express engine then Gordon for about a year after he arrived, he has since accepted his role and even learned to like it (though he never admitted it out loud)
