A long time ago, the Ultra known as Hydra was once a prominent and and well respected member of the Space Garrison, the force sworn to police the far reaches of the universe in order to maintain intergalactic peace an security. But one day all that came to change...

It all began when Hydra was sent to inspect a disturbance in a galaxy far away from the Land of Light. Planets that had previously been lush with life were now empty and lifeless. It didn’t take long before Hydra found the perpetuator, an eight-headed beast that seemed to drain the life force of everything it came in contact with.

After an epic battle, Hydra emerged victorious. But the monster wasn’t done yet and with its dying breath it uttered the following words; “Foolish Ultra. May you forever be tormented by the cursed hunger that has been plagueing me and know true despair!” The corpse of Hydra’s enemy then turned into a bright, malevolent light that forced itself into the Ultra’s body.

At first nothing seemed to be wrong with him, but as time passed his fellow Ultras began to notice a dramatic change in the hero. His body became darker and more sinister and even his personality began to match his new appearence.

Everything came to a head one day when he killed one of his comrades in a fit of rage. He was confronted by his superior officer Zoffy, accompanied by a platoon of several of Hydra’s fellow warriors. In the battle that followed, many Ultras were killed and Ultraman Hydra escaped the Land of Light, swearing to never return until he was powerful enough to destroy them all.

The man that had once been one of their greatest heroes were now one of their most dangerous criminals, rampaging through the universe in order to gain power and to satisfy his hunger...

Abilities: Hydra possesses most of the standard Ultraman abilities, including flight and various energy blasts, but after his transformation he has also gained some unique ones as well.

Hydra Storm: Hydra’s finishing move and most powerful attack. An energy blasts in the form of a multiple headed serpent that obliterates everything in its path.

Regeneration: If a limb is cut off it can be regenerated in a matter of seconds. This includes even his head.

Absorption: After the battle that changed his life, Hydra gained the power to absorb the life-force of other beings. However, depending on their strength, he might have to subdue them in battle before the process can begin.
