Here is a sleepy camel. :3 I took the photo at the San Diego Zoo this year. I don't have any stock rules, except that you can't use this photo for any sort of commercial use, as per the rules of the San Diego Zoo.Related content

Yeah, most zoos have specific policies regarding photos of their animals. Most of the time, it's only permitted for non-commercial use.

Are they? I dunno, they don't seem so bad to me. The animals are well-cared for, they serve to educate the public on wildlife, and most zoos are non-profit, so extra money often goes towards wildlife preservation.

I can't really take for granted that the animals are well cared for. I have seen a lot of zoos and the animal is generally out of their natural environment. Many animals roam as a lifestyle (e.g. the elephant) and taking them out of this lifestyle isn't teaching much about the animal's lifestyle. Granted there is an educational purpose, but I know there is also a more sinister purpose/side effect and that is to teach our young not to revere and respect the creatures of nature, but that humans can hold captive anything we please and use them as playthings.
I also think that an animal which attracts more zoo attendance will be allotted more space regardless the size of the animal.
Non - profit sounds nice but generally zoos are non-profit because they are subsidized by the government and a stipulation of said subsidy is to be "non profit". People still get paid, needless things still get bought and as a long as the subsidy is all used by end of quarter more money will be on the way, generally.
As you can tell, I am against zoos. I am also against the killing of animals that hurt the humans wandering around in the animals' backyard. Why is the human in the animal's backyard in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with hunting

*shrug* I dunno. Of all the ways we exploit animals (food, circuses, transportation/work, research), zoos seem like the least of all the evils, yanno?

The way we eat is definitely the greatest of all evil. Not sure if you know about this standard practice of our day, its pretty damn sick. [link]

*nods* Yes, it's pretty sick.
But more to the point, what does this all have to do with a photograph of a camel?
