Oh wow! That is so awesome. And I love their names. ^_^ I have to wonder how many artists started out in the sciences (I was pre-med for a few years before devoting myself fully to art and there was a fellow art major who switched from chemistry late in her junior year!) Herpetology seems like it would be a bunch of fun to study.
