The Abslom Daak 'theme tune' was a flexi disk given away free on the cover of DWM Issue 167. I think it's been published online (most things have).

Smashing! Originally commissioned to promote the first Dalek Killer collection Marvel UK put out. As editor of Doctor Who Magazine I got some t-shirts made up and I still have two of them though of course they've seen better days. Maybe you should send this to Tom Spilsbury and suggest he get some new ones done!

I hadn't seen that article before. I wonder how many people got pissed by that April Fool's day joke.

If it really is a joke, I'll be taking this journal down and be very annoyed.

Pretty sure it is just a joke. The article was posted on April 1st and I wasn't able to find any additional information on any official websites.
Also, I've worked with Gary Russell, Lee Sullivan and Richard Starkings, who have all worked on the Dr. Who and Abslom Daak Strips in the past and I showed them the article on facebook, and they all believe its just an April fools day joke as well.

Fair enough, I'll take it down.

Does anyone think that Abslom Daak should be introduced into the TV series?

I always thought he would be a great fit, though I would be nervous about how he would be portrayed.

Maybe have Bruce Campbell play him - After all, Bruce has already portrayed the chainsaw-wielding demon killer Ash Williams.

Yeah, It was nice to see a new strip of him in the Vworp Vworp fanzine recently, it would be nice to see the character brought back properly.

Are you planning on drawing anymore pictures of the Dalek's SECOND greatest foe?

Nice! Daak rules. I've still got the old 33 single LP of the "Abslom Daak Theme" somewhere. Now I'm gonna have that stuck in my head all day...

You know, I've never actually heard that. Tried tracking it down a few times but didn't really look that hard.

Abslom Daak: Dalek Killer
Brilliant.
With his Chain Sword and...slightly psychotic tendencies.

Best original character to come out of the Who comics.

He's definitely up there, alright. But he's trumped by (among others) Frobisher, Shayde, the Freefall Warriors, Destrii, Max Edison...

Wha!?! No way! Daak is tops in my book. What is cooler than him running around in the Kill Wagon with the rest of the Star Tigers, hunting down Daleks where ever they can? Nothing beats it.

Nothing in MY book! If the BBC wasn't so terrified of big budgets we'd have gotten a T.V. series of Abslom by now! I'm still waiting for the day he appears in the new series of Dr. Who! The Doctor's a changed man now that the timewar has gotten through with him, and it would be facinating to see how he deals with somebody like The ultimate Dalek killer now...
