What programme do you use for colouring?
and how long did it take?

I'm using Photoshop CS3 and this one took about 2 hours. It would have been less but the effects I used to create the vortex took awhile to render.

Interesting.
So what do you start with when you are given the line art? do you put down base colours and build up, or what?
And what brushes do you tend to use mostly?
(sorry for asking loads of questions, it's just i'm interested in how other people do digital colouring so i can improve myself cos i fail)

Yep, I start out with flats and go from there.
The brushes depends on the project. I approach every book and every artist a little differently to match the mood and feel of the book. But probably the most common brush I use is the regular round brush and I just adjust the hardness/softness as needed. Usually the other brushes I use are from a large selection of custom brushes that I've created over the years.
But sometimes I won't even use brushes and just do a basic cut and grad technique.
