I was recently contacted by the owner of the original art to this cover. He was interested in having a colored copy as a companion piece. It was a fun opportunity to revisit this cover and to actually work off a scan of the actual art instead of a bad reproduction. I originally colored this piece for Doctor Who Classics way back in 2008 (it doesn't seem like its been that long). Check out my original pass: [link]I think I've improved a bit.

Somehow, everytime I see this Dave Gibbons Artwork, all I keep making the Fifth Doctor think is: All this terrible matter through time and space, and I don't get any Ice Cream?!

It's funny, I actually have the original comic. I remember it as feeling very dated. It's amazing how just a color change modernizes it so much.

Yeah, I have the entire run of the Marvel Dr. Who comics and loved Dave Gibbons' covers so I enjoyed recoloring it.
