Ok now that's just stupid. Pedophilia is already illegal.

The USA already has more guns in circulation than many countries have people. Just banning them, even if we could, would lead to criminals buying guns from illegal dealers.

We do however need universal background checks. Unless it's forbidden on a local level, it's legal for someone to knowingly sell guns to a criminal.

It's one of those state things. I live in Kentucky and our laws are pretty loose on private sales. However if you KNOW they are or have good reason to believe they would commit a crime, then you can be held accountable for selling it. But if you meet someone who wants to buy a gun off you and they seem on the up and up then you're good to go. Maybe something that would still allow for private party transactions would be where you and they guy buying it go to an FFL dealer who will run the background check on the buyer and approve the sale. Many reponsible sellers at gun shows have you fill out the form and they call it in right there. I'm sure the dealers would want a fee to do this maybe like 25 bucks but that would make sure you know who you are selling it to. I mean you have to do that when you pawn a gun at a pawn shop when you pick it up.
