I've always been a big fan of the wolverine character (bonus for being canadian) and never found Cyclops especially interesting... But in my mind, if these two were to duke it out- wolverine would be a smoldering skeleton in 5sec flat. I mean, the guy just has to LOOK at him. kaboom. over-town.thats just me.

I remember reading an issue of wolverine max where molten lava was poured over him and in the next few panels there was just a silhouette of a partial skeleton walking away and with each panel the skeleton slowly formed into a man. The only person who could conceivably kill wolverine is magneto by magnetically severing wolverines head from his body. The only way cyclops could kill Logan would be if Logan stood still while cyclops fired his optic blasts continuously in the same spot for hours in order to melt through the adamantium into his skull. This is due to adamantiums high melting point.

I have never actually been sure what the nature of his optical blast is. Is it like a laser, or is it just pushing stuff away. Becuase a laser does not push stuff away, it just burns throught stuff. So if it is pushing stuff away it has some matter in it somehow.

Actually wrong...In Ultimate Hulk Vs Wolverine, Nick Fury separated Wolverine's head from his body and kept them in separate rooms. Yup, he was still very much alive. So your theories would not hold up.

Sure Wolverine would be burnt to a crisp but he would regenerate but then be set aflame due to the scolding red hot adamantium that coats this entire skeletal structure. Though Wolverine does takes things like this on a personal level.

I like how you make cyclops actually look cool in this image ... though he's a dead man walking after this ... because even though wolverine would be a smoldering skeleton ... it would grow back all the rest of the bits that make wolverine what he is ... then he would jack up cyclops in ways he couldn't even dream about... plus wolverine is Canadian ... so ya bonus.

False, Wolverine has blocked lasers with his claws in the past.

Technically they aren't 'lasers' per-say: they're Force Beams. They burn, sure, but it's mostly a side-effect of what they really do... Tearing, punching, slicing, bursting and just-plain DESTROYING anything in their path. The only thing that can really deflect them is ruby quartz, like Cyke has in his visor. He totally vaporized Logan on one occasion just taking it off.

Yep. 'From a Single Cell' and all that. Still, he's far from invincible. Pretty much anyone who's cosmic or magic-powered can beat him no sweat. Guys like Nova, the Surfer or Dr. Strange can destroy right down to the atomic level.

True but Wolverine can regenerate fast. And i doubt that Cyclop's laser can pierce Wolverine's adamantium skeleton. so there would be his internal organs to regenerate from. You would need to completely destroy Wolverine all his cells.

Wolverine's bones are encased in adamantium, which means he still has bones beneath it. He could probablt regenerate from his skeleton alone. Most believe that, in order to kill Wolverine, you would have to remove his head and seperate it from his body.

False, in Hulk vs. Wolverine Nick Fury cut Wolverine's head off as to incapacitate him and Wolverine was survived. He even had a chat with Fury and was told that he was breathing through his pores.
