Moving right along! Here's a little collection of various Kyanite images, all compiled into one convenient collage! Well, not one. I suppose I ran out of space, so yes, there's actually one more.Besides the central picture, which was actually the debut of her official design, most of these images come from responses Kyanite has made to questions from her followers. Yes, she has an Ask box, and it's open! Shoot her a message sometime! And if you want context behind these images, you'd best check the Ask Kyanite tag!
These are all full-size, as well, at the resolution at which they were created, so that's an advantage we have here that we simply can't get on Tumblr. Also thrown in here just to take up extra space are some developmental sketches I drew very quickly to get a handle on her design. My work at its sketchiest isn't worth sharing all by its lonesome, so these didn't even make it to Tumblr. But they're all together now!

Hello ! I didn't want to post a message on your fanarts since I didn't watch SU and the fact is that I start 3 days ago so...
At first I just wanted to say you that your fanart of Lapis and Peridot is just a-do-ra-ble. I don't meet peridot anymore but Lapisis one of the reason I started to watch SU (I love her so much gnnn) and I can tell you that your fanart is one of the thing that motivates me to starting watching the show ! :'3 and btw I show it to two non-fetish friends (and one of them don't like feet at all) and they find it just adorable as me X3
And your Kyanite is just so cute and beautiful ! She looks so sweet, and her hair are so puffy, that's adorable ! Also I love the daggers, and I particularly love the way you draw the soles of the Gems, but on your baby you nailed it : they're wonderful X3Β
For the moment I'm not following Kyanite's Observatory because I didn't watch all the show but since I did that I will follow her adventures ! =w=

To start, I'm happy to learn that I've gotten so many people into Steven Universe with my drawings! Even better that everyone is enjoying it! Thank you for the kind words about my Lapis and Peridot pieces, I had a feeling I might get a few more of my dA watchers interested in what I was doing if they saw a bit more of the content they were used to seeing here 
Thanks so much for complimenting Kyanite!! I'm very happy with her design, and extremely pleased by the positive feedback I've gotten about her. I'm not even upset about the comments about her feet, I was happy to draw them 
I hope you don't mind the constant stream of Gem-related reblogs I've been making on the blog lately! I have some questions that Kyanite needs to answer yet, so one day in the (hopefully) near future, I should be sharing more pictures of her! Thanks for all of your comments!

She's BEAUTIFUL. She looks like she fits in the SU canon so perfectly. You have the aesthetic down pat with a real animators' touch. I hope you got lots of plans for her.

That was the main goal, to make her fit in! Her original design featured a different facial structure entirely, far too similar to my typical style. Her outfit was also too complex. She stuck out like a sore thumb. But I'm glad to have found a look that works for her! Thanks for commenting, I'll be sure to share more of her one day!

I do hope you're joking. First of all, I designed Kyanite back in March, around the same time as the first Stevenbomb, and well before you ever said anything to me about Sandstone. Furthermore, sandals aren't exactly an "original idea"; it's just footwear. I very well could have left her barefoot, but I'm pretty sure that's been done before, too! Even if it has, who cares?? We all have our own thing, and I can assure you, while she is obviously a fan character and hardly original to begin with, Kyanite wasn't designed using any cues from you, sir. You have nothing to worry about.

Nothing's stopping you! I recommend looking up a list of gemstones, and learning more about their "spiritual meanings" and what they represent. If that gemstone has a chakra associated with it, that would be an ideal place on the body to place their Gem. It's a great way to brainstorm what your Gemsona COULD look like, and maybe, you might end up with something you like!

Her daggers are made to resemble lightning bolts! I had a lot of fun drawing all of those faces, and yeah, her feet were fun to draw, too

Not necessarily! Besides the obvious fact that lightning can create all kinds of wild shapes, both the lightning bolts that you provided as well as the way I've drawn Kyanite's daggers are stylistic choices. The curve of her daggers also makes them much more versatile, not only for deflecting blows, but actually capable of swiftly cutting through things, where a more jagged design would be better suited to sawing through wood or something. Not ideal for the quick takedown of an enemy!

Is her gem on both her navel and forehead as a fusion?

While admittedly that's a pretty neat idea, no, I can say that Kyanite is not a fusion Gem. Her gem rests on her brow, much like a "third eye," which, among some circles, is the chakra her actual gemstone is said to activate. That helped me figure out its placement! But she doesn't have any other gems on her body; she just has an exposed tummy through the raindrop design on her outfit, that's all.

Hm, theoretically, I suppose she probably could! Not that she knows either of them, but she could probably shapeshift into them if she wanted! Of course, she'd still be completely blue all over, and more than likely, cloudy white hair.
