Description For all the people trying to inform me that I drew a peace symbol for an illustration of hate. I shall now educate you.

1. yes the ORIGINAL symbol represented peace. It can be found over any number of buddhist temples and the such. [link]

2. I am very much aware Hitler stole the symbol...and it is now sorely more recognized as the nazi symbol. [link]

so please...please...do not assume I had no idea this symbol was stolen. Even so the image was inspired by the pollution of two children influenced heavily by neo nazi's in their life.

"Hate Is Contageous. Its a disease that poisons and corrupts the soul. Innocence lost, our children are listening"

Thats is whats written over and over in the background. I want to let you all know that this is in no way intended to be a racially offensive artwork but rather intended to make a statement of how our hatred and ideals are passed on to our children.

I personally think this image is better suited to conceptual than manga/anime simply because its more about the statement in the image than the style its drawn in. To this day I wish there was a category for social issues, but there isn't...so I will place it here instead.

I drew this after seeing an interview on television with a band named Prussian blue. It consists of two twin girls, very young (at the time I drew it), very innocent looking, with a soft sweet sound to their music, until you listen to the lyrics. Brought up by a white supremecist mother and grandfather the girls were raised to believe blacks were not human...therefore don't have souls the same as them...which is where the phrase on the girl's scarf "he died for me, not you" came from.

Watching these girls broke my heart to realize that two girls that look innocent on the outside are so corrupted by their caretakers ideals...and it made me want to cry.

The characters in this image are both to a degree intended to be children, and siblings, the boy older and farther along in his path to corruption, but the girl vastly unaware of the degree of wrongness in her holding such a doll in her hands. Spatterred with blood textures in the background to show that only pain and negative results come from such opinions.

You can read more about prussian blue at [link] (American_duo)

~Senny

NOTE: anyone who wishes to use this for spreading ANTI hate messages or for reports and the such, I grant permission...however you HAVE to credit me as the artist and let me KNOW before you use it.

Okay now I have time to actually comment. Yeah I have heard about thoser girls too, it is just terrible. I don't understand how someone can do such a thing. I think you captured a very important fact (if that is the right thing to say..o.o) And you are really portraiting this problem very well

Art-wise, I love the colors, they work very well together, and the design of the characters are awesome(as usuall XD). The bg really fits the mood of this pic too =3

I wanted it to have more of the dirtied blood color than the bright fresh blood, you know that color it starts to turn just as its starting to dry. Mmmm I was just thinking I wonder what they are doing or thinking now that obama is president

Yeah I know that color. I think it fits the mood of the picture very well. Yeah me too. It is really hard for me to understand people like that, since I grew up in a home where my mom and dad is very stric about the fact that everyone has the same right. I wasn't pushed on religion or anything even my mom is a christian. ( my dad's an ateist though..) And when it came to other people that maybe didn't look like me, well my dad has lots of friends with a different nationality. Haha mom and dads first date was to a gay club XD hehee. So yeah I am very open to people.

I BELIVE IN FAIRIES AND ELVES!

Picture is nice, but you can always make a new symbol, because we all know, that symbol became for nazi stuff.
Even if that symbol is been for pace, everyone's mind would think at nazi.

By the way you made a wonderful job in coloring and drawing

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Checkered-Fedora In reply to Rekano [2009-01-27 00:26:13 +0000 UTC]

u___u the symbol is there because the nazi's used it. The description clarifies that I am aware it was originally a symbol of peace because people assumed I thought it was only the "nazi symbol"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rekano In reply to Checkered-Fedora [2009-01-27 11:15:48 +0000 UTC]

I know that, but I said, people, most of people, recognize it as the "nazi symbol".
But the drawing is wonderful

This meaning is absolutely amazing! I saw that special as well and it was truly just...shocking. I just couldn't get over the fact that two girls that were so young and innocent could say such hateful things but it is true hate is contagious.
The picture is absolutely lovely and the meaning is beautiful.

TheEmissaryOfLove In reply to Checkered-Fedora [2009-01-27 13:31:45 +0000 UTC]

I doubt it will happen. They are completely immersed in a community that will exploit their innocence and use it to spawn more hate. I'm sure some will get out but they are completely shielded. It really is sad.

This is absolutely on of my favorites of yours. The message is so strong and so many ignore the fact that what your raised with really dose effect you. It takes so much to step over it.

God, Prussian Blue makes my heart break. I had never heard of them and now, Damn. It shook me. It really did. Our future is in the hands of the children and the bunch we have now is either corrupted with greed and simple lack of caring, or so filled with hate they will never find there way out.

If only there was hope that we as a planet could through aside all this nonsense. We're all the same species and that's all that should matter.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Checkered-Fedora In reply to Fallen-Fires [2009-01-27 00:28:06 +0000 UTC]

very true, and it is sad that children are trying to "grow up" earlier and earlier. I know when I was just getting out of high school being depressed was a "fad"...I'm not sure how bad it is now since its been nearly a decade since I graduated high school, but that alone makes me sad

I hope that the hate can slowly turn to love as time passes...not just people like prussian blue, but the hatred between different religions, and countries too

Gotcha, i actually just took the time to read the description. Sorry Centi. Didn't mean to irritate you.

Thats insane that those little girls were instilled those ideals. I didn't even think that people still really thought like that anymore.

The artwork caught my attention immediately. The image itself stood out to me and I had to click it and see what it was about. Without the message - upon first look, it's a visually well done piece. The clothes are very well done as is the colouring and character design.

With the message added to it, it goes from an eye-catching piece to a very powerful piece.

It is sad to see how people are raised with certain views of hate... it's a cycle that really needs to be put to an end.

Looking further at the piece, you can pick up even more of how the message is spread throughout it and keeps that powerful meaning without the text. Though, clearly text is needed for common misunderstandings.

Very well done.
