Description
This is an exploded view of the ship 'Ursa Miner ', showing all of the pieces that went into creating it.If you see a lot of details that you didn't notice in the original picture.. well, I don't believe in shoving detail down peoples throats. Better a half-noticed detail that makes an image seem more real than an overt detail that hits you over the head and knocks you out of immersion in the image.
Some of the pieces are heavily modified from the original images, so they may not be recognisable. Many of the pieces are pretty obscure pieces of equipment that you would have no reason to know about unless you are in the industry that uses them. I can't even name half of them.
Just thought I'd make this for those of you who are curious what goes into these pieces.

Update:
I've finally managed to find most of the images that were used in this piece. You can see them here .

Hey cool.. I wasn't sure anyone even looked at my GFX page
GFX is cool and all but it has some pretty stiff limits for non-subscribers.. I thought I might try and draw a few people to my dA page and see if they liked the rest of my stuff... seems like it worked! ^^
Really appreciate the comment, was kind of feeling like noone was interested in the way my stuff was put together. Usually I wouldn't mind that, but when I make images out of dozens of little pieces, I like people to recognize that I put a lot of effort into it. I know, you can't make people take your images at more than face value, but when I get views and feedback on images like this one, it feels like people are really interested in what I do.. gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.. xD

Hehe! i know the feeling.
GFX is not that active now cuz the owners dont have time to invest in the site.... also the creating an acount option is off . so no new ppl can join. But i hope something will be done soon
as one of owners said a few weeks ago.
I think that DA is a place where ppl can trow anything they want. thats why i dont like that much here .
Anyway... see ya around

This blows me away. I'm working on a project right now sorta like your doing with the multiple parts. Like building a model from assorted model parts. But not nearly as many levels and stock than your using. Simply brilliant.

Hehe thanks, that kind of feedback makes it all worthwhile
I checked out some of your work, looks pretty good ..I love 'Skull Falls'..
I've yet to try making a proper landscape photo-manip (well, I did make Choking Sky but that was my first attempt at photo-manipulation and I really went overboard with the smoke hehe..). For some reason I find them really difficult. Also, working with natural organic forms rather than machinery is tricky too.. I've got something along those lines in the works right now that's giving me one hell of a headache =S
Anyway, cheers for the comment, and I hope you come back to check out the rest of my work soon ^^

Ha, thanks man! Yeah organic stuff is a bit different to work with. I find it easier than mechanical stuff for some reason tho. Choking Sky isn't too bad. Smoke looks really good especially for your first attempt. But yeah, thanks again and I will definitely keep an eye out for your work. Keep it up!

It's all down to practice I guess I'll probably do a few more organic pieces and hopefully it'll get a bit easier..
Cheers for the devwatch by the way.. I'll try not to disappoint my newest fan, hehe! xP
