I JUST READ FORSAKEN AND ALL MY TEARSAlso in my head canon Haytham calls him Rat(tonhnhaketon) whenever he wants to be condescending (aka always)
(Though I do kind of wish they found a better author? Like, Bowden isn't that bad, but the writing just really isn't up to par for published novels and it felt more like fanfiction quality)
And why yes, Haytham is holding Ratonhnhake:ton over the edge of a roof by the scruff of the neck. Not that Ratonhnhake:ton is the kind of kid to be intimidated by it apparently

I actually didn't mind the way this book was written. It was supposed to be Haytham's journal and a journal doesn't have to be perfectly written. That's what I kept in mind whilr reading.

Do you recommend the book? Forsaken, I mean?
The only one of the series I've read is Renaissance and I agree with your opinion that Bowden writes in Fanfiction quality... Poor fanfiction quality at some points.
I am considering buying Forsaken none the less, because I heard it contains a lot of additional information on Haytham and his life... Is it worth it?

I would say it depends. If you really want to know the details of Haytham's life (and there are a lot of important stuff not mentioned in the game), then yes. If you're satisfied with a simplified version that'll surely be put up on his wiki page soon, then you don't need the book. It all depends on your needs as a fan.

Bowden's writing again? I don't hate the guy, but I have problem with his quality...he improved much though. Although reading Secret Crusade broke my heart...much

And I have to agree >.> Altair's story was absolutely brutal. Connor also gets a very lackluster ending where everything he fought for seemed to have been in vain. Haytham...Haytham finds out his entire life was one big lie :/
Ezio? Ezio loses his family when he was young, but he gains so many friends and he accomplished so much good, and he gets to die peacefully with his wife and kids still alive and intact. Ezio definitely got it good.

After Secret Crusade I shy away from buying more novels. But Forsaken...yeah, I need Haytham's story. His background is not so much explained in game :v
Not so in vain I think, he got a whole homestead to take care of. At least he seemed to have find peace of mind. ( I do hope so, unless Ubisoft decided to break it next series...if there is any)

Not completely in vain, no. He does have his Homestead and the Brotherhood and his awesome Crew, but what he was mainly fighting for- his people, and Freedom and Equality- didn't turn out the way he had tried so hard at.
Especially since we all know what happens to the Natives ): I spent some time on a reserve this summer. It's not a pretty picture.

Yeaaah, I read a bit of the ACII book in a bookstore once and immediately decided against buying it. But this time though, when I learned that it filled in more of Haytham's story, i just had to.

Why does Ubisoft hate everyone not names Ezio *hugs Haytham* His stooorrryyyy ;____; I mean, we broke Altair hard, we kicked Connor in the face his entire life, and now we find out that Haytham had it severely rough as well. Ezio's the only one who lived a relatively happy life orz

I know, right? I work in a bookstore, so I get to borrow the books fresh off the press without having to buy them or wait for the library to get it, which is handy. Because I don't know that I'd want to pay for anything Bowden wrote, but I wanted to read this one so much...!
The whole scene where Connor's about to be hanged and Haytham's like "oh god oh god I can't let this happen oh god" just... ugh!
