This helped me quite a bit. Just about gave up having AI's in MMD because I couldn't get the hologram effect to work when I stumbled upon your Tutorial here.

i had the exact same problem, but i fixed it. open MMD, put a black background, load a model, then load motion or pose, load the "hologram.x" file, then go to "effect mapping", click on the model, load the "hologram_object, the model will disappear. then go to hologram RT, click the model, and then click "remove effect". do the same with the maskhologramRT tab. your model should be all hologram-ish. i hope this helped ^.^

i give up on hologram i think. i do the same as you say here, i downloaded the one you use here. but when i load in hologram object ... my models just disapearse...nothing left anymore. follow your other steps and she is back. but normal. Β this sucks sooo badly ( and i have the 8.03 mmd )
