Once again, dA's title does not allow for my huge essay title, and so the full title is: 'Public and Private Spheres of Social Media: Community Movement of the English MMDC via Chosen and Forced Introversion'.

This essay was only meant to be a couple of thousand words, but has developed into a few thousand words lmaoooo. Imagine me a few months ago being like ‘hmmmm I wonder why everyone likes Discord nowadays’ and thinking I could write this in a single DA journal.

For this essay, I have decided to add a ‘TL;DR’ section at the end. This was inspired by a few of my MMD acquaintances saying that they want to engage with my written work, but it is too long for them to be able to read. The TL;DR quickly and concisely sums up the essay and its findings, with some more straightforward language too. I hope it helps people who cannot read very long essays still engage with my work. Please let me know if you find it useful!

An update on my Masters study (as I seem to update y’all on that every time I upload an essay haha): I ended up getting 3 unconditional offers to study Early Modern Literature-related fields! I accepted my choice last week, and will be starting in September. I will be moving away from home for the year (and if I decide to stay at this university for my PhD, that will turn into 4-5 years away), but luckily I am not too far away from my friends and family, just a couple of hours by train. My friends and I frequently visit the city where I will be living anyway, and they have already demanded that all 14 of them sleep in my tiny uni accommodation so that they don’t have to get the train home on a night out lmaooo.

I have already started studying for this Masters, as my academic contact at the uni has kindly provided me with some reading to prepare for my chosen modules. I’m hoping that my preparing early will help me have a more relaxed time for this next year, and I can properly enjoy being at university since my last year of my bachelors was cut short due to COVID. I’m so excited to get started! In the meantime, I am focusing on continuously improving and maintaining my health conditions, working hard at my job and getting some MMD projects done.

I plan on publishing a few more essays like this over the next year or so, as well as a big focus over on my professional blog: www.chestnutscoop.com/blog .

Also, do you like the MMD icons that I have been using on the front of all my essays? They’re hand-made replicas, and I plan on distributing them all in a pack some time soon.
