I don't usually do tutorials, but I found this fire with its layers still existing that I had done maybe over a year ago and thought why not to make a tutorial out of it. x) Hope it helps someone.

Oh no, once it's in storage all the fav's go away, but when it's removed from storage they return to each and every deviants favorites. c:

I actually wasn't aware of it until I checked myself since I got this tutorial back in my messages, but it was still in my fav's.Β
I think it's just how storage works, it's the same way it was for me when I put everything in storage when I moved from my old account to here.Β

OMG, thank you for posting this. I finally know how to give fire some shape to it, that's one impressive technique. ^o^ This is, like, one of maybe two other tutorials I've seen on painting fire from scratch too, so these aren't very easy to come across. XD

How do you set a layer to Luminosity mode? 0.o And when I did the clicking thing with the eraser, it turned out totally different compared to yours. Because, you can actually see the circular form of where you clicked... Not complaining about your tutorial, I just wondered if I actually was doing something wrong? xD

If you use Sai, the layer mode is here:Β img15.imageshack.us/img15/8326β¦ (the picture isn't mine). And are you sure you didn't use 100% density at the erasing part? Could you show a picture of your fire?
