Truth be told, I actually like Smokescreen, though I am growing a little tired of his childish enthusiasm. Maybe I'm just jealous that the new Autobot has gotten almost twice as much screentime in the last four episodes than poor Dreadwing, who finally got to do something in "Alpha; Omega". And it's about damn time, too. How can you make a character like him and then NOT use him?Anyway, was looking forward to seeing the short promo for next week's episode, "Hard Knocks", and guess who got more screentime than the characters in the description? Yeah, yeah, I know, first world problems, whining about Smokey hogging up screen time, blah blah blah. Anyways, this comic came to mind... had to do it.
Might draw some Smokescreen later. I really do like the guy, but I could use a break, even if it's one episode.

I wouldn't recommend it. The doc's had a few drinks and lord knows he can't stand skinjobs touching him.
Though, maybe he's a happy drunk and would welcome the affection?

It's hard to not like Knock Out so that the love is not surprising. He just has so much charm and sass. I saw the new episode yesterday and is it me or did the episode have somewhat lazy writing and pacing? I mean it was still a good episode and it was nice to hear George Takei voicing Alpha Trion, but it did not feel as "epic" as it could have.

Oh, I know that feeling. My roommate and I felt the same way... seriously, I'm worried about how lazy the writing could get in "Hard Knocks". Some on, writers, you were doing fantastic with "The Human Factor", bring that guy back in! He knows how to do it!

They should let Robert Skir, Marsha Griffon, and Marty Isenberg do the writing because they seem to be the only writers who know what they are doing. We are at episode 47 right now so there are no more excuses for this poor pacing and writing to keep happening.

I wonder if the writers ever sit down and discuss what's already been established, because it seems like someone REALLY forgot about the whole virus that Raf and Ratchet put into Laserbeak/Soundwave... unless it doesn't work how I think it works?
I'm glad the writer for "The Human Factor" at least remembered "OH HEY, KNOCK OUT AND BREAKDOWN WERE PARTNERS!" Some episodes seemed to forget that... :l

Yes, though I recall them mentioning that if Soundwave was able to decode a location, they'd get that decoding as well.
Honestly, I've only seen the episode once so I may just need to go back and watch it again to see if they clarify that detail or not. I could easily be mis-remembering it.

To be fair, the promos don't always accurately depict who or what is in the episode.
I love Smokescreen, although it pains me how it makes Bumblebee completely fucking useless as a character. That's really my only complaint about him.

Good riddance, I say. You had two seasons to do something interesting with him. His toy will still sell, though, no matter how bland he is.

I get that the focus is suppose to be on the Autobots and Smokescreen definitely adds some flavor to the mix (well needed flavor, mind you), but why make the Decepticons more interesting? I guess it's subjective- I've always liked the bad guys more than the good guys, but in Prime, especially so.
Optimus Prime is blandy McBlandnuggets, as well as Bumblebee (who has been given one or two episodes to shine, yet they still don't seem to show any real development with him... not that we can tell since he can't speak besides bleeps and bloops.)
Arcee, Ratchet and Bulkhead are pretty solid characters and I'm always interested in them, though with Bulk's its a double-edged sword. Chances are, Miko will be thrown into the mix, and no matter how much I love Bulk, I just can't stand Miko. Of all the Autobots, Ratchet is still my favorite, just because he seems the most flawed, and therefor, seems to have the most to develop. He went from distrusting humans to now coming to accept their existence into their lives, as well as their importance, and he's always there as a voice a reason, he's a little gruff but dammit, I guess I'm attached to the old doc.
Wheeljack's interesting, but they don't do much with him. Smokescreen's a breath of fresh air, but given that he's now had four episodes in a row to take the spotlight, I guess I'm getting annoyed with him. Or, maybe it's just me knowing that next week's episode, which should feature KO and Starscream, isn't going to have as much time as I'd want to focus on those two. Can't have an episode that doesn't feature the Autobots in some manner, right?
