I AM A TERRIBLY LATE SECRET VALENTINE, but here's some Allen x Lenalee for ya, BonbonBeluvr .Went out of my comfort zone this time and colored all in marker. I rather like the result, I hope you do too ;v;/
As for the story, welp, I had a lot of ideas, but it was hard to write an exact scene down to explain it. I guess I'll leave it up to y'all in how you interpret it.

Ah. Makes sense. I usually try to include SOMETHING, but... sometimes, I just can't describe it in words. But from me, any variations of o.o are typically positive. And this just makes me think of how I told the cafeteria ladies at my school that, in the breakfasts, I am NEVER going to choose OJ, ALWAYS AJ. Took a few weeks, but they got it. Then, near the end of the year, one day, one of them, the one who pretty much always GAVE me my juice, actually asked if I wanted OJ. So I reminded her: NEVER gonna take OJ. If OJ is all they have, then I'll go without. Well, in order to get a full breakfast, I have to take a juice, but... I'd probably give it to this one kid I know that's hypoglycemic (I think. He's allowed to eat during one of his classes for medical reasons, so... but when I asked him, he didn't know why he was allowed/had to, he just knew he was/did.). ANYWAYS, it's the fact that I was giving you a guideline about myself that reminded me about that... but yeah... I'll shut up now.

First of all, you always manage to capture the emotions in your artwork so excellently. So beautifully. The feels are tremendous with this one for me. It's profound, especially since I actually really am fond of this pairing, actually their whole relationship(s) in general. And now I'm just entirely fond of you.
Allen looks so distraught and seems so speechless as to what to say to Lenalee who seems so hopeful, telling him, "I'm here for you, never give up, let's keep on walking... together." Allen recently has seemed to be lost and of course conflicted deeply because of the events in his life and him getting back his friends (i.e Johnny Gill joining him on his journey of greatly intense self-discovery, Yuu Kanda wanting to repay him in the way he helped him resolve his conflict and he regretted helping him increase his, Howard Link coming too but not really for him so far in what we see) has helped a lot to say the least. His friends are his sanity.

Really? Oh, how sweet. I'm flattered that I actually influenced someone so much that they were able to openly admit that they thought about me, and positively. lol. I'm glad I had a positive affect on you.
Yeah, I actually have theories of myself as to why I like Lenalee the most. Yes, theories of myself. I'm not entirely sure why I continue to love her so much besides of course her cuteness. In society's terms, she's not the easiest character to like. As a matter of fact, she seems the hardest hence why I assume she gets so much hate. I know a lot about her personality, but I can't truly figure out if I actually like her personality or not. I have positive feelings towards her, so I assume I like her in all actuality however. Though, I still feel like the old me and the new me are battling with morals. The old me being closed minded and only liking certain characters regardless of the execution of them, and the new me who likes any good, well written and developed character.
I mean, Allen and Kanda seem more promising/appealing characters than Lenalee (which explains their popularity; the obvious growth and development they show through actions *cough* and screen time *cough*) but I can't help but notice the potential Lenalee has as well--because character analysis--as a character and I hold onto that idea because I want to see that potential flourish in D. Gray-Man regarding recent events since she met the reasonable expectations in the previous arcs essential to her past development, in my opinion (her getting an upgrade in innocence and sense of self). I can't help but feel irritated when I see people questioning her importance to the manga--yet understand why, since she seemingly hasn't really been doing much lately--and accuse her of being poorly developed. When she's one of the most consistent characters in the series despite what she's portrayed as on the outside; her seemingly "inconsistency" coming from the conflict that were foreshadowing her development (e.g Suman Dark arc), the same development resolving her conflict. (The series isn't close to being finished so it can't be that Lenalee's character has reached her limit in development, she's a main character for goodness sake. She just barely gets all too much significant screen time nowadays used for other than foreshadowing. I can see her character dynamics taking different routes along the series' events in all actuality. I'm not complaining about it though, other characters should have screen time as well.) She hasn't disappointed me yet as a character in terms of development, and I hope it stays that way like it has for Allen and Kanda.
I sorta feel the same way for Lavi too, but the hate Lenalee gets attracts me more to her character however . I know I'm setting myself up for something huge, positive or negative, but I honestly can't help it.
Note: My immense love for Lenalee all started with an extremely well-written Allena fic in where Allen cheats on her with an OC. No, the author does not hate Lenalee. They're just a mature and close to professional author on Fanfiction.net. They're actually a supporter of Allena as well, but obviously favours Allen more as a character. (I actually used to hate the OC for the cheating along with Allen but then I started to like the OC better than Allen--in essence, Allen's my least favourite character in that fic, and the author didn't even butcher his character to make it like so either, lol. I'm actually being irrational with my dislike, I'm aware; even if I don't narrow-mindedly ship them anymore.) It seemed so in character of him in the way he cheated, which was out of love. He's actually in love with them both, "equally". The story's on-going so I don't know who he loved more and how it ends. I'm stalking the story though. (It's called, "So We Flow With the Wind", and I enjoy it a lot.) Anyways, because of his ICness it resulted in me irrationally disliking him outside the fic too. That was when Lenalee came into my view, me realising Allen overshadowed her character in hindsight and that my love disreagrding the couple but when regarding the two outside the pairing wasn't equal at all. After me analyzing Lenalee as a character--way better than I did Allen's--I came to the deduction that I had a great amount of respect for her and love. When my dislike for Allen blew over and I came to appreciate him outside the fic I was vulnerable to shallowly loving Allen deeper than Lenalee once more, but that was also when I noticed the intensity of the hatred for Lenalee--still and all evident even till this day--that made me so attached to the character (a.k.a my maternal instincts kicked) I've discovered I had a great amount of utmost respect for. I think that's why I love Lenalee so much, mostly due to the hate she gets.

I can't look away *o* like everything from the expressions to the atmosphere to even the hair is just fabulous and has more layers than what you see just looking at it the first couple seconds
Like Allen's coat falling apart a little bit. It kinda throws the question "well what if Lenalee never sees him again" or "what if he's missing a part of himself when they do meet again" and guh. My feels love it and are crying at the same time (then again that's fitting for DGM so xD)

I love this so much! I happen to ship Allen x Lenalee (it's one of my OTPs aside from Yullen), and I almost squealed when I saw this. //slapped
You captured the emotions really well in this, which makes me impressed! Lenalee looks concerned for her friend, while Allen doesn't know what to do, and is probably fighting with his inner Noah....struggling to take control of his own body once more.
But I am sure BonbonBeluvr will love this! It's amazing > u <

omfg Chi, I nearly died when I saw this amazing piece of art!
Idek where to start//cries
First of all I absolutely adore the style you used. I love the marker shades, since they seem so dynamic and natural and I absolutely love this. I also love the non-solid-black lines seeing this makes me want to re-do my pictures lmao
The hair is also incredible. It looks so vivid and (again) natural like how do you do that? These small flowing strands of hair probably. The feathers are beautifully glowing and supporting the flow from Allen's coat and Lena's hair, just as the whole lightning btw.
Now to the theme of the image. I absolutely love their poses. I'm usually not the biggest shipper but homg. You nailed both of their expressions and personalities. Lenalee whose friends mean the world to her, hence the title (?) I guess. Allen looks like the concerned boy he is, incredibly caring but also a little bit withdrawn since he wants to keep everyone safe. He also seems to disappear from Lena's touch and it kinda reminds me of the time he fled from the Order. Plus Lena wearing the uniform while Allen's wearing a broken coat supports the whole "Allen is broken down and Lena tries to support him" thing. Ah I'm not good with words today. It feels as if Allen is disappearing and Lenalee really tries to help him but we know Allen. He'd fall into darkness to safe his friends at any time.

The smaller flowing strands definitely make a difference ;v; For this particular artwork what I did was start with dark green and thick marker strands, then used thinner and lighter color strands on top of that, and repeated; then lastly added the whispy white strands. It makes a large difference in how flowing the hair looks!
Yep, the title also holds a pun, referring the Heart of Innocence as well as Lenalee and her views of Home ;v;/ I think you're doing perf with words omg you caught on wonderfully to the theme(s) I was going for <33

Ahhh this drawing is just perfection.
I really like the style you used for this, it doesn't exactly look like your usual drawings, everything seems a little more angular, which really reminds me of the D.Gray-Man style.
I just love how you outline things. The lines always look so dynamic and fluid, not solid black like mine often do. They really fit well into the picture, especially when you draw hair your outlines don't seem to disturb the flow and the light weight feeling of the hair (which is again something I personally struggle with).
The shading is really beautiful, I especially love Lenalee's hair. It's interesting to see how you layered the shadows and that you left the strokes of the marker so visible. This is something I never do because it kinda hits an OCD nerve in me
The glowing feathers are also so pretty! And I also like Allen's ragged coat.
The emotions in this drawing are really strong and almost distressing, Lenalee is holding his face in her hands, but he seems to be backing up, he's not touching her back, his arms are not visible and his eyes are in the dark. Lenalee seems hopeful but he seems so pained >.< Gah. It's also cool that the light seems to come from Lenalee's side while Allen seems to be backing into the dark ;-;
The way this is framed and their poses are also just so well done, it just draws your attention at once.
This drawing looks so complete, it's a perfect illustration, like almost out of an artbook >.<

Omg you nailed the themes and intentions I was going for which makes me really excited that my art managed to pull off what I wanted And yes, I did try to incorporate more of a Hoshino style ;v;/
I was heavily inspired by one of the flashback scenes for Allen where Lenalee finds him in the middle of the night hiding his haywire eye, and she panics and tells him not to go any further into the shadows because she doesn't want to lose him. This is also a kind of shoutback to when Allen held Lenalee by her face back during the Ark Arc and reassured her that they would get through. I had half the mind to make Allen's torn up coat (which is supposed to signify his not being as well off as he tries to make people think) breaking off into puzzle pieces, a reference to Lenalee's view of the world, but I didn't have the time xD

ps. For the lines one thing you can possibly try is avoiding lining in black. I actually try to line in a dark shade of another color, possibly the almost black shade of the base color I'm using in that area (for instance, dark, dark green for Lenalee's hair lines; dark gray for Allen's hair lines). It can make the lines look a little lighter and more fluid, depending on your line thickness/thiness too ;v;

I myself find detailed feedback on a drawing way more satisfying then just a simple "this looks good" so I try to give good feedback when I really like something in hopes that it makes the artist as happy as it would make myself :3 (I'm oftentimes just too lazy to do it x.x)
