Description Hello:
 These images show variations of the Raptor as seen in here -> Colonial Raptor 1

 Here we can see the SAR (Search and Rescue/Scout) Raptor, which is the craft without the weapon pods as it was originally seen. Also there are the civilian variants as seen during the movie "The Plan": the evac/ambulance Raptor and the police Raptor (seen very briefly).

 I hope you'll all like it. Comments are appreciated.

Your art is excellent. Although, I have always thought that it was awfully small for its intended purpose, it would look great in a traditional fire and rescue/ambulance livery. It has potential as a forestry/park service vehicle, fire bomber, etc... Great Work! Have you ever thought about doing a BG:TOS Colonial Fleet Shuttle? It is by far my favorite space vehicle.

 Thank you very much for your kind words .

 The Raptor is indeed a small ship, maybe (for military purposes) it was better for Colonials to deploy them in bigger numbers because of Cylon swarming tactics. But your added roles I think are indeed more than plausible because of the Raptor's versarility . Even more since those civilian versions I am showing here are canon .

 I have made the Colonial Shuttle from the reimagined series, I have not made renders/pics of it yet but I should do that soon.

 Yeah, you should check the movie "The Plan", the red rescue Raptor was seen in detail, while the blue one was seen very briefly in a quick shot .

 Unless we get some major pics of the support Colonial ships from Blood & Chrome, I would only try to build a version of the Osiris. So I don't have plans of building that Raptor, at least for now .

 Not that i could explode making models because my modelling mood has not returned as it's fullest yet . But all references are always of great help.

 What would you use that Raptor for?

 I may give Osiris-style ships a role, but not anything regardig that weird hull textures.

I know the feeling, I haven't got back into modeling yet either. 

It could be used as shuttle traffic like in FO, or maybe a small scout or worker bee's for the construction ship.

 Well, since we cannot have transporters in BSG, I use the Klingon Commando Team weapon to send Raptors or Shuttles or Heavy Raiders at a target ship or station. That works nicely .

 I can consider shuttle traffic for the FO-version of my mods, I just hope I can come up with nice starbase design for the Colonials .

 As a matter of fact, I was able to save tons of pics of his designs. It sure seems that Colonials love big stations. But he also made smaller ones that could work nicelly, thanks ofr reminding me of his designs .

 For Cylons, I saved a pic of what seemed to  be a fisrt draft of a Resurrection structure, maybe something I could do from that one.

Yeah I remembered seeing a Cylon sensor station concept that I thought would make a good Cylon station. I think it appeared in Razor on print out's as one of the Pegasus' targets before she met up with Galactica.

 The station in Razor was a nice design, there were other two designs as alternatives. But you are right, the pegasus targetted that station before meeting Galactica, I guess they were successful.

 Since Cylons are known to have superior sensor abilities since TOS, maybe that station from Razor could be a sort of sensor array, but with more awesome range than stock arrays? .

Yeah souns good, I think the Cylons would have better sensor ranges and long range attack at the expense of close range.

 Yup, that's correct, Reimagined Cylon ships are very good at firing at long-ranges but if a battlestar gets closed enough then they are frakked. Still, it is awesome how Baseships can regrow destroyed parts and heal themselves.

 I was looking at a forum of a BSG mod for Sins... they use shipyards to get Baseships, but I want to grow them instead. But having normal shipyards for TOS-style ships. What do you think?

In FO the Borg are constructed using temporarily scaffolds, which is something you could use from growing TNS Basestars. I liked how in BSP, Ryan explained that the original Basestars were originally Colonial mobile weapon platforms used to defend the colonies. So them being constructed makes sense.

 Te temporarily scaffolds idea is a good one, although only doable in FO I guess?. I also thought of that idea for another faction of mine.... frak, I really seem  to need to move into FO .

 I have read about that idea you mention in BSP and the original basestars. And I already have a shipyard to build them . I just need some more non-combat Cylon designs but i waqnt to have BSG Online as a last-resort option.

Yeah when you think of it A2 was never finished at launch and it really shows it's age today. In fact I don't even have it installed anymore, instead I have a copy of FO, with the mod folder for mods. It's pretty easy to mod, almost exactly the same as A2, just with some additional code with is all described about on their guide in the modding section.

 I am sure I'll be able to check and learn all of that when I am able to learn modding with Apoclaydon. I am sure the mod folders will be a great plus .

 I am also interested if FO would also allow for bigger maps, because I have build some ships that are quite big, and may cause some problems in our typical smaller maps, hehehe.

 I asked out of curiosity only, because FO does have small maps too, hehehe. Although scaling seems to be different aswell.

 I still wish we could have more than one system in maps, like in Sins.... although I am not sure if that would make Armada games more messy or not, hehehe... but I suppose it gives more room to place proper bases.

I find multiple systems like Sins to be complicated and less fun overall. I much prefer the EAW system over Sins when it comes to galaxy wide conquests.

 And what is the system EAW uses? I am curious.

 What I DO want from Sins is their way for players to build strucutres on asteroids and planetoids, althoug I guess other games can do that too... except our Armada games .

It has a galactic conquest mode where you control planets, build forces and invade new systems or need to defend systems from invasion. It's a pretty neat system, something that at first I didn't like but it really grew on me and I think works better than sins for the more slow paced gamer like us Armada gamers. 

Yeah I think FO are planning something like the asteroid building for the NX Project.

 That sounds like an interesting game system, and I agree that I am slow paced for playing aswell.

 I know FO has made tons of changes with any new releases... at this rate I may actually wait for the NX Project (but only if a release date is reasonable close).

Well the NX Project will also support SOD files, I see no reason why not starting on FO would be an issue. Taking advantage of the new features FO has over stock is a better idea that modding for Stock when so few even play stock anymore.

 Well, I guess I can start modding FO when I stop working on models and sketches too much. I need to download their latest install aswell, so I'll do that soon, whenever I get a more stable agreement with Apoclaydon since he has his own mod ideas.
