While Darwin is in his hammock, recovering from his latest adventure (part1: [link] , part2: [link] ) he is utterly surprised when Polly wanders into the room and climbs up onto his lap. She had always taken a disliking to him, nipping at him whenever she got the chance, and after the whole mess with Queen Victoria she had taken to outright hiding from him. But for some reason she had decided that he wasn't so bad after all. He reached out a hand and touched the feathers on her back, getting a cooing purr in response. Pretty soon she had dozed off, curled up on the blanket. Darwin leaned his head back with a smile. It seemed he had been forgiven.~

Meriwether: *comes in with a basket of laundry and a tray of food* Oh you're awake. Cool. Ya didn't miss too much, the guys wouldn't stop messin' with that squid and it inked everywhere. Β I had a lot to clean up and a load of everyone's laundry. Speakin' o' which, I got yours here *Sets down laundry basket with his clean clothes* and I made dinner. Β I know ya don't like ham very much, and I dunno if you're well enough to scarf down a full dinner, so I made soup instead. Β *She sets the tray on the barrel next to him*Β

Considering all the trouble he put her through. A little coldness on her side is completely understandable. But ALSO considering all the trouble HE went through to get her back I really wanted to see some kind of reconciliation.

Of course, of all the people he wronged, Polly (if you can call her a 'people') got the worst of it. I mean he stole the Captain's bird, he rather broke up the crew but Polly was going to be EATEN! So to have HER forgive him too kind of completed it.
