Just a Pirates doodle I felt like coloring. Haven't done these guys in awhile. Still love them, though!!Still have a couple stories I'd like to finish about them too.......eventually.

Yes, they really do. It's a shame they had to turn down the opportunity, though, due to the film's "low expectations" here in the US. As a matter of fact, I found out what the name of the sequel was going to be, if it hadn't been rejected. It was going to be called "The Pirates! In An Adventure with Cowboys" o.o They were working on the script for that, but they put it on hold!
I mean, if they weren't able to do a sequel, maybe they could have made more short movies, like they did with the "So You Want to be a Pirate" short, like the way Pixar continues to make those Toy Story shorts.
Oh aye, but it's a shame he split all his Kikri crisps on the floor x'D

Right?! I thought you might like that. But really, it's a shame. Yes! We really should, but it'll take a lot of doing for it to be possible. We'd have to be REALLY persuasive about it. And if they can't possibly do another big movie, then they could always look to doing short films with them.

I've done quite a bit of thinking on this. (obsessive much?) And I'm SURE they would get more attention with a sequel than the did the first one. I didn't go see it in theaters because I wasn't that familier with Aardman and from the trailers I couldn't decide what kind of movie it was. The swaggering of Cutlass and her belly-button skull that was prominantly displayed in it made me wonder if it might be a little dirty. Of course I ended up renting it and it was AMAZING. Nobody else I knew went to see it for similar reasons....they just didn't know enough about the story or Aardman. But I have since shown it to ten friends who now absolutely love it and would without a doubt go and see a sequel. And I bet that happened with a lot of people. It was an obscure movie but when friends share the awesomeness the number of potentiel viewers for a sequel GROW!
Methinks they would have at least twice as many viewers for the sequel as the first one.........especially if they make a more comprehensive trailer.

I really appriciate her stories. She's a great writer, her plots are fun, she's always in character and just as important she doesn't get all weird and romancy with the pirates. (Which it seems over half of pirates stories seem to do)

Yeah, same here :/ I only prefer the "buddy-buddy" relationships. I'm all for the arm hugs, shoulder pats, slaps on the back, the noogies, and the chummy hugs, but when it comes to the "touching in certain places they shouldn't", that's where I cross the line…or I just stop reading it o.o; Especially when it's between two people of the same gender.
(Although, may I mention the part towards the end of the film where the Pirates were cheering as Vicky blew away in the airship, Gout hugged and kissed Darwin on the cheek?? Honestly, I thought that part was hilarious

Yes! I agree entirely! Pal stories are my absolute favorite! Pirates, Monsters Inc., Gilligan's Island, Perfect Strangers. But if a story starts *ahem* leaning in the wrong direction I stop reading.
Yeah, that was hilarious! It was kind of an 'I'm so happy I gotta kiss something' and Darwin just happened to be the closest victim.
