Description
Here is Rover all finished! He's just over four inches tall and is made from Captain Kirk, Apoxy Sculpt, paint ant a small strip of cloth and two watch gears. He's super happy to be this size because now he can fraternize with the crew of the Enterprise, Voyager and DS9, as well as Gilligan's Island, Jurassic Park and Caleb and Sopia!!I'm super happy with how he came out! Hope you guys like him!

Awesome work! I love the idea of watch gears on his arms!
Oooh! Star Trek and Jurrassic Park! Sounds like Four-Inch-Rover is gonna make a lot of new friends! Although, maybe not dinosaur friends... XD
I've been thinking about doing something similar, except, since I lack action figures and my brother isn't likely to give up one of his G.I. Joes, I thought I'd just sculpt my own. We'll see how that goes. I'll probably fail horribly and end up laughing at myself for it.

Same here! For my most recent birthday, my mom took me to GeoFest at the Indiana State Museum. They had tons of cool geology samples, activities, games, jewelry, and purchaseable fossils!
But I spotted a black cord chain with a little hand made silver frog charm hanging from it and dragged my mom over to investigate. THE THING HAD GEARS ON ITS BACK AND SCREWS ON ITS JOINTS! I absolutley love frogs and the fact that it was a robotic frog made it even better, so ten bucks later it was mine. My mom was so weirded out; "So...it's an android frog..."
I barely ever take it off....
I just recently gutted an old watch of mine just for the sake of seeing what was in there! The gears in that thing are super tiny and super cheap plastic!
I do to, mostly because I'm sentimental about them, but besides that 99% of them are plastic dinos or stuffed animals that I don't particularly feel like ripping apart and re-assembling. Some of them have the plus of being collector's items as an extra excuse...
I'll try it out as soon as I can bug my mom into driving me to Indianapolis to walk around their Hobby Lobby for an hour and a half...

AAAH! YOU ARE A ROCK LOVER TOO! I absolutely love rocks and go to gem shows every time I get the chance. I have way too many rocks and fossils for my own good.
I have a friend that is a jeweler who is always picking up neat rocks and fossils and sometimes he passes them on to me and old watch parts to boot. He's where I got the gear for Rovers arm. He's going to teach me how to cut rocks and set gems. Jes already showed me the metal casting and welding processes.
Oooh! It sounds awesome! I'd love to see a pic of that!
I JUST discovered Hobby Lobby a couple months ago!!!! Its amazing!

I AM! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ROCK HOUNDS UNITE!
Same here! Those little gravel pits in front of Wal-Marts and dental offices are great for finding cool rocks! I picked one up randomly a few years ago and when I took it to GeoFest for the experts to identify, they said it was a super cool rock with lots of unusual scrapes and holes and patterns.
Oh, that sounds awesome!
I'll have to get one!
MY TOWN NEEDS A HOBBY LOBBY SO BAD, MAN! WAL-MART AIN'T GONNA CUT IT FOR ME!

DO WANT. He looks AH-MAAZIIINNNGG. Beautiful paint job! I love how bright his hair is here, it's very attention-grabbing.
It's a nice copper-ry tone. Love how shiny his vest and arm is too~ Like how you also had to enlarge the ears x'D
So fantastic, can't wait to see Flyspur!!

Ha ha! Thank you so much! I'm surper happy with how he turned out. I wasn't sure how he was going to look since he's so small.
Thanks. I used the same color for his hair, vest and arm. So it's all pretty shiny.
Heh...Yeah. Kirk's ears just werent big enough.

Dang, that's cool! Is he flirting with Janeway? Or exchanging information about the different species they have encountered?
What kind of paint do you use? And I see his hat is attached. He doesn't have to worry about losing it!

Thanks! Ha ha! No. Probably telling her about one of his adventures. He can't talk without his hands.
I use acrylic paint.
Yep. That's good for him.

Ah, this is so awesome!!!! He just looks so cool!!
I actually want to hold him for a bit.
The first thing I did was show this to mom on my iPhone, and she's just like "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!!" Lol.
Oh, we've just got to see him with...... well, all those other action figures, but especially Gilligan's Island!!!! I'd like to see that.

When you do the girls, I'm sure Rover would be happy to try Marry Ann's coconut cream pie!

I'm sure he would! I have to wonder how it would go with Nana in Marry Ann's kitchen. Would they work together, or would Nana take over?

Good job! It's certainly not easy to tell where your work starts and the action figure ends. It's pretty easy to imagine Rover bumping into the Voyager crew since none of them are within easy access to Earth.
