The Pirates! modernized.

In the world of today our heroes aren't technically pirates. Although, they are called that by a number of official parties. They're treasure hunters aboard the good ship "Ham Nite".

The Captain: As the enthusiastic skipper of the little, run-down salvage vessel, 'the Captain' is the boss and his crew follows him wholeheartedly into any of his wild schemes.

Number Two: The Captain's right hand man and nearly everything else. He researches the area they will be going, and the dangers that might await them there and using that info helps them set the safest rout. Safest, as in undetected by any nosy fellows who might ask for passports or other such rubbish. He is also the operator of most of the technical equipment such as the radar and GPS systems...and other 'techie' things, as the Captain would say.

Albino: He's the little guy. He can get into small, tight spaces that the others can't reach. Very handy when raiding tombs or exploring caves.

Gout: Essentially a professional gossip. He speaks to as many people as possible, listening to legends and rumors of lost treasure, strange creatures, and what ever else happens his way. Some of these turn out to be more fact than fiction, which is exactly what these treasure hunters are after.

Darwin: The fact checker. He takes the tall tales and does his homework to find out just how plausible they might be. After a lot of digging and research he finds the area they need to look. A biologist at heart he also keeps an eye out for anything living they could use, new plants or unusual animals. His datafiles would make any cryptid hunter drool. Although, considering that their explorations are not always completely legal he has never been able to publish any of his work.

Surprising and Curvaceous: Previously an actress, this lass is the crew's costume artist. Considering the places they need to go and the people they sometimes need to be she is a vital member of the team, telling them what they need to look like, and how they need to talk and behave in different parts of the world.

Sunsets and Kittens: (not shown) Used to work in a grease pit he now has the very important job of keeping the ship in ship shape, not an easy task considering how old the vessel is. He can repair anything with little more than a thumb tack and a rubber band.

Accordion: (not shown) Demolitions expert. Sometimes things just need blown up, and this old guy is your man! He also plays a mean accordion.

Coatrack: (not shown) He is the Swiss Army knife of the crew. With his multiple interchangable prosthetics he can be a blowtorch, a skillsaw, a crowbar, a pair of pliers and even a corkscrew. If he doesn't have it on him he has it with him. He makes certain that the crew has anything they might need in any given situation.

Polly: (not shown) She would have made them millions if they were to have sold her. After all a living dodo is an absolutely priceless discovery. But the crew, and especially the Captain, became a little too attatched to her. And thus she became the heart of the boat.

Just a few ideas I had. Couldn't modernize them without an explaination, could I?
