Jakob is super friendly to most everyone he meets, both human and dog. He's eager to please to the point where he can't stand it if someone doesn't like him and would go above and beyond to get them to change their mind about him. Some would find this excessive behavior of his very annoying.

Though Jakob is a pet, he has no prejudice against dogs of other factions and is actually very curious of their lifestyles. Not afraid of striking up conversation, Jakob will often try to talk to anyone he finds interesting.

Being a Pet, Jakob is expected to protect his household but because of his friendliness he hasn’t proven to be a very good watch dog. Jakob loves his family, especially the little girl he lives with, so this is a concern for him. If he can’t protect them, they may give him away.

Jakob has a short attention span where he’s easily distracted and quick to chase anything that catches his eye. However when his mind is set on something, he’s determined enough to keep at it long term despite short term distractions.

Jakob has strong retriever instincts and doesn’t do well in hot weather.

Jakob’s greatest fear is being left alone.

Pre-Group History

Jakob was born in a litter of three on a farm outside of Canidale. His mother, an agile and lively Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix, and father, a solemn Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky mix, both lived and worked on the farm. Their owner had no need for more more dogs so at three months Jakob and his two sisters were put up for adoption. Jakob did not like the idea of leaving his family and became very upset and clingy. Annoyed, his father told him toughen up, that master's word was final and that their duty was to fulfill his wishes. His mother was a little more gentle but basically gave Jakob the same answer, that this was just the way a dog's life was.

Jakob was bought by a single mother to be a companion for her 7 year old daughter, Emma, and hoped he would grow up to be a good watchdog for their lower middle class home. Early life with his new family had been a little difficult. Jakob still missed his parents and sisters terribly and there were so many new rules about living in a house. He was a quick learner though and soon settled in and began to enjoy his new life as a pet. Jakob and Emma are now best friends and he greatly enjoys his job of walking her to and from school. Emma's mother, however, seems to only tolerate him.
