Well, I would´ve added some stuff to the mask, or the head section in general, because as of now, my only guess as to why noone has figured out who she really is yet is because of a subconscious mind spell thingy or something. I mean, in Lady Wifi Ladybug says that her mask is magical, so maybe there is more to it than just transformation magic, but also identity concealment magic.
Also, she is the only superhero based on a flying creature I know of who can´t fly (and yes, that one time I´ve seen Batman in a space ship does count as "flying").

I actually saw a theory somewhere that would explain the mask part. Apparently, some ancient cultures who used masks for rituals and such believed that once you put that mask on, you ceased to be yourself, instead wholly becoming the entity the mask represented. Thus, the actions you undertook while "someone else" as it were, would not be associated with you, but rather said representative entity, and the face behind the mask would be protected from retribution by the mask itself. It's the most plausible explanation I've read for why stupidly small domino masks successfully disguise secret identities.
So yes, subconscious mind spell thingy.

This can also be applied to another show I watched: Winx Club.
As an infant, Bloom, along with the Dragon Flame, was sent to Earth so the Dragon Flame wouldn´t fall into the wrong hands (though I guess the badguys can´t be so bad, considering the one sending an infant into a burning building on another planet is also said infant´s big sister). Bloom grew up on Earth, not knowing about her true originis, and when she re-united with her real parents, they already knew her name. Or, well, the name she was given by the people who "adopted" her (actually they found an abandoned baby in a burning house and just kept it...).
Most plausible explaination here as well: Daphne (Bloom´s older sister, who might also be held responcible for her entire planet´s destruction) cast a spell on Bloom so that whoever finds her names her Bloom, hoping that, against literally all odds, Bloom would eventual save her home world.
And now about Daphne most likely having caused Domino to freeze over entirely: In S3 of Winx Club, Valtor steals the magical treasures from different worlds, causing massive damage to the entire world almost immediately. Solaria, which had never seen a cloud before, suddenly got a global rainstorm. Andros, a giant ocean paradise, turned into the most dangerous ocean in the entire Magic Dimension. However, Domino got spared, as it was already a frozen wasteland. In flashbacks of how it looked before, we see that it actually was a literal paradise (ok, maybe a few too many monster attacks per week, but can´t let it get boring, right?). Now, in sending the Dragon Flame, Domino´s magical treasure, to Earth, it is very likely that Daphne caused her home world to turn into a planet-sized freezer.

Nah, Superman doesn´t dance or wear "clothing" that barely qualifies as underwear...
Also, Tecna is most badass fairy. Like, the few times she does stuff, it´s pretty awesome:
1. To earn her Enchantix, instead of saving her little sister from a river, like Flora did, Tecna locks herself INSIDE an interdimensional portal to save 2 entire worlds (also, as one of these worlds is a mix of Alcatras and a freezer, it can be assumed that at least one of the prisoners was from tecna´s home world).
2. To bond with a Fairy Animal, instead of using said animal´s tears to send an evil wizard flying, like Aisha did, Tecna enters an unstable energy core (seriously, that thing supplied a planet-sized super computer with energy and was close to exploding) to re-stabilize it. Also, she gets this pretty awesome energy-armor-thing from the animal she bonds with.

For this I decided to just leave it simple. In other designs I would make the mask more ornate but for this design I still wanted to keep things relatively simple.
None of the sailor scouts in Sailor Moon were recognized and they didn't wear masks at all so I would say it's just sort of a magical girl thing seeing as Miraculous Ladybug clearly pulls from both the super hero genre and the magical girl genre. So yes, I agree with a sort of identity concealment magic scenario.
I believe that was so they could keep her from seeming overpowered as well as to give way for some interesting shots of her traveling around Paris with her yoyo, mimicking the way Spiderman travels in a lot of ways. If you watch the episode with Volpina and watch her fly alongside Ladybug and Chat Noir as they travel throughout the city her movements are not nearly as dynamic or interesting to look at, at least in my opinion. Volpina seems separated from the other two because she is flying. I feel the audience would get that same feeling if Ladybug could fly and Chat couldn't. In the end, I think Ladybug being unable to fly suits the show and the universe better, but that's just my opinion.

And about the flying: Yeah, makes sense. I mean, as long as she "just" protects Paris, and not all of France (btw, I´m totally waiting for Hawkmoth to "expand his business" later on in the show), she doesn´t have to fly.
And yes, she does mimick Spiderman when traveling (or when hanging upside down). Btw, do you have a Miraculous Ladybug OC? I got 3 of them, with one actually being from another universe and meant for a crossover, so he doesnt really count.
