I've always had a thing for villains who did their stuff all in the mind (which is a big reason I fuckin love Psychonauts) and I've gotta say - this guy is powerful. He has a solid grip on Emily's fears and is manipulating her own mind to an extent where it's almost nightmarish.

You know, I think I really like this villain. I never expected that I could be so interested and intrigued by a character in NINE PAGES. So little is known, not even a face, but their drive to torment Emily is just so...attractive? And those cheesy jokes! This guy has a real sense of humor!

Whoever this mystery character is, I hope to see a little more of them. A lot could happen in four pages, but I'm sure that they will play a greater role in your ongoing story.

So far, I've very much enjoyed this comic. While the introduction may have been a bit quick, this mysterious and, aptly named, "insight" into Emily's character has been interesting to see. She may be your character that's always in the forefront of your inflation pieces, but seeing her as a character with hopes and dreams is so refreshing.

She feels fear and love. She wants a stronger relationship with her friend and teacher, but is afraid that she will be rejected because of the components of her troubled past. She's afraid of her image and how she may lose control of it. And, perhaps, she is afraid of what she has become all those years ago...

I have a feeling that this isn't actually your "grand project," much like how page 7 wasn't the end of this comic. This is an introduction, or a small piece of it, into an ongoing story perhaps coming later down the line. It feels less like a full story but a chapter in an ongoing tale, one that stars Emily as opposed to your actual main character. This may be the beginning of your focused storytelling, where you know where you want to begin and end and tie everything together.

But only time will tell...
