And here we see our heroes escaping the clutches of the masked Karate instructor...Well, after a great quality "project" night with my girl: Amy Lousie , this piece was born.
This was a lot of fun, to say the least. Never have I attempted to draw a motorcycle, but I'm proud of the results (even if the wheels aren't perfectly circular...).
But yeah, a comic-like scene with Ryo Sakazaki from AOF on his legendary bike. Accompanied by his little sister Yuri Sakazaki, and his "would-be-girlfriend": King.

98' was a dream match, and 99' was around the time SNK stopping caring for the AOF team. Completely understandable.

Oh well, to each their own. I think I stopped playing KOF after 98' for a while. I dunno, I guess I just didn't like the whole striker thing. : P
They did change her, for the worst I would say. Her character and her moveset got downgraded a bit. Thankfully, she got better in 2003 and XI... Then bad again in XIII. >>
I prefer her with Ryo & Robert rather than the ladies team. When she's there, both her & King get completely overshadowed by the sex symbol that is Mai. :V

Well, they had to since she changed from a platformer game to a fighting game. The same way Ralf & Clark were very different from Ikari Warriors.
Still, I never liked Athena too much. Probably because she's the least original character in the series. The stereotypical-anime-school-girl has been done to death in everything.

Seriously though, it's weird that the KOF universe downplays Robert & Yuri's relationship.
The only time we've see them in action is in KOF 2003. And even then, just barely.
In AOF3, it was actually YURI going after HIM. So there is definitely something going on.

For their intro in 2003, she crouches down to tie her shoes, then Robert tosses a bouquet of flowers to her, only to miss and go over her head. She then giggles & waves at Robert to begin the fight.
Also, their win quotes against each other hint stuff -
Yuri to Robert: "I like your outfit...! Sorry I ruined it for you..."
Robet to Yuri: "I can't hold back... Not even against you..."
Robert to Robert: "Impersonate me to hit on Yuri will you!? You're dead!"
Yeah, Ryo & King's relationship does not last too long, since in AOF3 it's never mentioned.
I think Kasumi tries to hit on him though.

I know very well that these characters are all fictional. It's fun to admire them though; like one would do a celebrity. It's perfectly natural for one to do so.
I don't mind Amy doing all those projects of K' & Ryo. And she doesn't mind me doing all those projects of Yuri. We trust each other, and we acknowledge that we each have our own faves in our favorite game.

I really like how detailed the characters were even as small as they were drawn. Makes me wonder how big the picture was initially, or just what size pen tip you used! ^^

Motivation comes from being with those you love. Never thought it would work like that.
The sketch book is 11x81/2 inches. The pencil is No. 2, and the pen is a thin Sharpie. As for everything else, GIMP.
In a nutshell: cheap materials.
